Ten Short Stories “In The Beginning It Was God Seven Blank Day’s & Ten Commandments (Law’s) !!! - Paula Moore

    THE CREATION STORY

    SEVEN DAYS OF PERFECTION

There was once a time when the world was empty and formless. There were no people, buildings, animals, or trees. The earth was simply a dark, empty space where nothing existed. One day, as God’s Spirit moved about the earth, God saw a need to make the world a beautiful place. The first thing He said was, Let there be light! and the earth obeyed Him. Seeing that the light was beautiful, God said, This is good! He then separated the light from darkness, and He named the light Day and the darkness Night. This is why we have nighttime and daytime. This was all He did on the first day of creation.

On the next day, God separated the earth from the skies. This was all He did on the second day. On the third day, God saw a need to make the world more organized, so He decided to separate the waters from the land. He made the waters gather in one place and the land in another. He named the waters Sea. God was pleased with what He saw, but He did not stop there. He commanded the land to produce all kinds of plants, grains, and fruits alike. Many trees, grasses, and all sorts of flowers appeared. Sweet-smelling roses and daffodils grew. God looked around and was happy with what He had done. The evening passed, and the next day came.

It was the fourth day, but God wasn’t done yet. He was still beautifying the earth, and there was still so much that He planned to do. So He made the sun to light up the day and the moon to light up the night. He also made the beautiful sparkling stars to make the night look beautiful. When He was done, He hung them all in the sky. The earth was already taking shape. God looked around and smiled, glad that everything was turning out beautiful.

When the fifth day came, God’s attention shifted to the waters He had gathered to form the sea and thought of how to make it another beautiful world. Let the waters be full of life, He said. Suddenly, all kinds of fish and sea animals appeared in their numbers. Millions of little fishes appeared, darting through the shallow waters while the huge fishes settled in the oceans. The view was so beautiful! God was having the world of His dreams, but He was taking everything step by step. When He was done with the waters, He called forth birds and flying creatures and sent them soaring through the sky. He made the sky and the top of trees their habitat. The sky was no longer a bland sky blue; there were now tiny creatures flying around in groups diving through the sky and enjoying their unlimited liberty. Evening came, and that was the end of the fifth day.

But God wasn’t done with the creation; He still had things to make. On the sixth day, He made all sorts of animals to fill the land. He made goats, elephants, lions, and even tiny ants, and He made the dry land their habitat. After God had done all these, He wasn’t still satisfied. There was the need for something! Something was missing! Who would enjoy everything God had made? Who would ride on the camels and enjoy the fragrance of the flowers? Nobody. There was no one to cultivate the land and trim the flowers. Human beings were missing.

God said, Let us make human beings and let them resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all the animals. So God made human beings to enjoy everything He had made. He created man from dust and breathed His life into him. He blessed all He had made and commanded them to multiply. He then told man that He could eat grains and all kinds of fruits. The animals, both domestic and wild, all fed on grasses and leaves.

God even made a companion for the man, and the man called her woman. The name of the first man is Adam, and his wife’s name is Eve. God blessed and commanded them to have many children. He placed them in a beautiful garden called the Garden of Eden and put them in control of everything He had made.

Now, the world was a perfect place. There was nothing to be added again. The universe was complete, so God decided to rest on the seventh day after so much work.

The world did not start existing without God’s power. Some people say nobody created the world, but we know that God is the creator of the whole world because the Bible tells us so. John 1:3 tells us that All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was mad. There is nothing that exists in the world today that wasn’t made by God.

WHAT DOES THIS TELL US ABOUT GOD?

God loves beautiful things: When we look at the skies and the beautiful flowers surrounding us, we will agree that God loves beautiful things. Everything God made is beautiful! If you want to see how beautiful the world is, climb a mountain or the top floor of your house and look around you.

God is creative: God has the power to create things by just speaking them. If He wants something to happen, He just says it, and the earth obeys Him. Since God made us like Himself, we also can create things like Him.

God is organized: God did not rush the creation process by making everything all at once. He took His time by carefully making everything one after the other. Instead of leaving the world in its ugly state, He arranged the waters and the lands and made them sweet to behold.

God pays attention to details: Our eyebrows, nails, and those little but beautiful things around us remind us that God pays attention to details. He does everything perfectly without leaving anything out.

God loves man: We know God loves us because He made us be like Him by giving us His spirit. He also made us king over every other created thing.

LIFE IN THE GARDEN (THE DISOBEDIENCE)

In the garden, the man and his wife took care of everything God had made. They were the kings of the earth because they had power over everything: plants and animals. All the animals lived in peace and harmony with human beings. The wild animals did not eat human beings; they fed on grasses. God brought all the animals to Adam for him to name them, and that was how they all got their names. Adam also cultivated the plants and took care of them. Every evening, God would come to the garden to chat and play with them. It was such a beautiful time. Everybody, including the animals, was happy, and there was no reason for anybody to cry. It was a perfect world.

There was a tree at the center of the garden that God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from. They could eat from every other tree, but God forbade them from eating from that tree. Eating from that tree meant that they would die. God told them that they would die any day they ate from the tree, so they stayed away from it because they did not want to offend God.

One day, when Adam was away, the snake, which was the most cunning of all the animals, came to Eve and said, Did God really tell you not to eat from any tree in the garden? Eve answered him and said, We can eat from every tree in the garden, but God told us not to eat from the tree at the center of the garden so that we will not die.

The snake which Satan was influencing then said to her, You will not die! God doesn’t want you to eat it because He knows your eyes will be opened, and you will become wise, knowing good and evil. God does not want you to be wise like him. Then Eve looked at the tree and saw that it was beautiful and would taste nice. So she took from it and ate it. She had forgotten God’s instruction! When her husband came back, she gave him, and he also ate. Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they saw that they had no clothes on. So they sewed fig leaves and put them on their bodies.

Later that day, when God came to play with them in the evening, He couldn’t find them. They had run off to hide among the trees when they heard God coming. They had
