The Greatest Artist
Have you ever looked at the nature around you? What is more beautiful? The birds in the sky, the fish in the water, herds of buffalo, pink flamingos, or the flowers that grow across the earth?
Maybe you've given it some thought or asked your parents about it.
I would like to tell you an incredible story about God, who created the universe. God created the universe, including the sky and the earth we live on, at the beginning of time.
The earth had no form or shape, no light whatsoever on the surface of the deep waters. There was complete emptiness everywhere. Everything that you see right now did not exist in the past. Nevertheless, our creator has been around since the very beginning of time.
I will tell you a story about the greatest artist of all time.
Ready?
Above the jewel-blue waters, the spirit of God floated, all by himself.
The Bible says that God spoke, Let there be light,
and then a light appeared. When God saw what he had created was amazing, he divided the light from the darkness.
Both the light and the darkness were given names by God: the light was called day,
and the darkness was called night.
And that was the first day of creation.
God, the greatest artist, made light. The day would start at dawn and a bright light would cover the earth; but during the night, darkness would spread across it.
God was in the mood to create more beautiful art, so during the second day, he decided to create more. Since the earth was covered in water, he decided to create a roof as a space dividing the water from above.
So, the sky was above the ocean blue waters like a canopy, and below the sky was a wide sea that stretched across the earth - so deep that there was no ground to walk on.
The day came to an end, and on the third day of creation, God stated, Let the water beneath the sky remain in one area and let dry land arise,
which means, Let there be dry ground.
In obedience to God's instruction, the land emerged from the ocean depths. God referred to the dry parts as land,
while he referred to the areas of water as seas.
God found it to be a good thing. However, there were no animals or vegetation to be found in the surrounding area; it was lifeless.
Also, the birds we can see today were nowhere to be found. The sky was empty.
So, the greatest creator said, Let there be vegetation on the ground. There will be seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruits with seed in them,
After God’s words, the world began to produce plants and trees. And as God had foretold, everything happened as he had thought it would.
The Earth started to have beautiful vegetation which was unique. There were plants that produced unique kinds of seeds and different types of trees that bore fruits that had seeds.
Green vegetation stretched across the land. The trees and fruits were different colors, adding so much beauty to the land. It was a beautiful sight to see and God marveled at his creation.
He was pleased with what he had made.
After, there was night, and on the third day, morning arrived once more.
On the fourth day, God said, Let there be lights in the sky to distinguish between day and night. Let them serve as signs to show the seasons, days, and years. Let them also exist in the sky to give light on the ground.
It took place just as God had spoken, as all other things had been created. God created two magnificent lights, one to rule the day and the other to rule the night. Both were given authority over their respective times of the day.
God also made beautiful stars in the sky that sparkles throughout the night.
The brightest light was given the beautiful name, Sun,
while the dimmer of the two was referred to as Moon.
God positioned them in the heavens so they would shed light on the earth, lending their glory to the world. The sun and the moon would shine at different times.
The sun shone during the day and the moon during the night.
The moon has different phases that can measure the passage of time accurately. Amazing, right?
