Troy R. Becktel
In his thirty-plus-year career in business management, Troy Becktel has worked for corporate America as well as small family-owned businesses. In addition, he has spent nearly twenty years as a coach. During that time, he has interviewed and evaluated hundreds of adult employees and motivated scores of young athletes. As a corporate executive, coach, husband, and father, Troy was blessed with many life-lessons in each of those diverse environments. During his many years of successes and failures, he has learned a great deal about the dos and don'ts of working with others, the value of having the right people in one's life, and in particular, what not to do. In the end, he believes that all situations, even the toughest ones, can help one grow and succeed in business.

INTRODUCTION
Interviews
Thank you for your purchase. My Effective Management Guide series has taken off. I am still not sure who will benefit more from these guides. Will it be providing the workers with knowledge or managers who want to gain knowledge, but either way, knowledge is only power when it is shared and glad to offer it!
This guide will provide insight and tools to help bring objectivity to the interview process. Even at my best, I was never able to hire a star performer every time. The tools provided in this guide will help you to weed through the subjective concerns and introduce a much more purposeful, objective approach to interviewing for success.
Performance Evaluations
This is the first of many to-the-point management guides designed to help break down the walls of organizational disparity. Whether you are part of a small company with only a few full-time employees or a corporate monster with thousands, it is critical to remember that your most important resource is your people!
Some of the scariest places to work are within organizations that don’t actively demonstrate the value of their people. It doesn’t take long for the employees to figure this out either. This can easily be monitored by things as simple as turnover and attendance or as big as profitability versus plan or forecast. It is time to break down these barriers and be purposeful in creating a foundation for future success with your most valued resource, your people!
The best leaders are great coaches. They empower their staff and help them to remove the obstacles that prohibit growth.
(Troy Becktel)
Treat employees like they will make a difference and they will.
(Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS)
Loyalty is intrinsic to human nature and it needs to be rewarded and not considered a weakness.
