    Nothing can beat a memorable resume to get your foot in the door. But what makes a resume memorable? Is it the colorful paper it’s printed on? Or maybe it’s the unique formatting of the document. Perhaps you have chosen to use a combination of a special design or customized formatting and printed on embellished resume paper. This adaptation of the traditional style of the resume will certainly gain the attention of the reader but these changes are only cosmetic and superficial. How do you grab the reader and make them want to read more? That is the one question all writers ask: How do I capture the reader’s attention and hold it? The same question begs to be asked regarding the resume with the inclusion of another more agonizing question. What are the recruiters and hiring managers looking for in a good resume? What do I need to do to make my resume stand out from the crowd? How can I make sure my resume is in the semi finals and ultimately the finalist? The answers are quite simple: Content! Credence!     Hiring managers are all business people with a very full schedule. Reviewing resumes is a task some deem pleasant while others find it a chore. For some, it’s just one more thing added to their already full plate. When your resume is submitted, you are not going to know the first person to which your document has been introduced. It could be the human resource manager or their support person or it could be the hiring manager. Nor will you be aware of any circumstance within the reviewer’s busy day that will probably impact the reaction to your resume. Most companies solicit the aid of staffing firms to help weed out the multitude of applications and to save time. This can be a benefit to the applicant, as reviewing and screening resumes is the primary function of these staffing companies. Unfortunately for the applicants, these staffing firms are not very familiar with the intricacies of the companies’ operations they represent.
