My Story
I grew up hearing that college was the key to a good, steady job, just like everyone else in my generation. It was made abundantly clear that my GPA was important because I needed good grades to get accepted into college, while off-handed jokes were made about slackers who only had the skills to ask you if you wanted fries with that. My generation was told that a degree was necessary to do anything more than fold sweaters at the mall, and if you look on sites like Monster and Indeed, you’ll see that we weren’t lied to – most receptionist and assistant positions
