PREFACE
What makes this book different from other real estate books? First, we don’t discuss investment properties. This is a book for people getting ready to sell their home. Second, this is not a motivational book that discusses concepts and principles of real estate. This is a fact based book of the many directional game people call selling a home. We are your guides. We tell you what is coming up and how to prepare. This isn’t our opinion, these are facts. Whether you use a real estate agent or decide to sell your home on your own, you still need to be aware of the entire selling process before it unfolds in real time. A lot of research went into this book to actually tell you how this experience will be when you decide to sell your home. Many homeowners are stuck on the sidelines because of the stress and uncertainty involved with selling your home in today’s market. It’s not the stress of potentially making a profit from your sale. It’s not knowing the process that happens very quickly once your home hits the market. How is that stress eliminated? We discuss the process of the transaction. Sellers also become buyers, and with available inventory at historic lows, this too is a reason why more people don’t want to put their home on the market. As sellers, you focus on the act of marketing your home. That’s the fun part. We focus on the entire journey. From getting up the nerve to calling a real estate agent to thanking your lucky stars that closing day is here, we cover it all. Just think of the people who have climbed Mount Everest. They don’t just head up the mountain, they prepare. They hire Sherpas. The expert guides of the mountain. Without the Sherpas, the climb would be a disaster. The value is in the experience and knowledge of
