About this ebook

Are you feeling overwhelmed with raising your children? Are you struggling with connecting with your child? Are you yearning for an environment filled with love and understanding? Keep on reading…

Going to bed without objections, no tantrums, a no-drama mealtime, anxiety-free potty training… Does this sound like a fairy tale? For the majority of parents, it does. Few people know the chaos and challenges that come with being a parent prior to becoming one. There is nothing that can prepare you for it. Parenting is a skill, and little by little, it can be improved and enjoyed.

Have you heard of positive parenting? Well, everything you will read in this book is based on the philosophy of positive discipline. There are no bad children, only bad behavior. This approach is focused on training parents to become peaceful and to recognize bad behavior on time. It eliminates the yelling and frustration, providing a calm and stimulating environment in which your kids can grow.

You can be the patient parent raising good, happy, and confident children who listen when you talk.

Welcoming a baby into your household is one of the biggest changes of your life. To nurture him or her into a responsible, whole-brain, and respectful human being is a huge responsibility. As excited and delighted as you are, you may also feel scared and helpless. Every parent does! Children don't come with an instruction manual. That is why you need strong support, exactly what this book provides.

There are many new techniques and strategies for raising cooperative children, but most don't have long-lasting effects, which may lead you into frustration. After reading this comprehensive guide and understanding what positive parenting means, you can acquire mindful logic, extensive knowledge, and effective tools that will help you easily tame and discipline even the most explosive and inflexible children.

The philosophy of positive discipline builds upon what Maria Montessori, a revolutionary educator and pedagogue, said: "One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child".

This book will prepare you to tackle the most difficult challenges of raising kind toddlers of any age, like:
- Positive discipline explained in detail – definition, principles, benefit
- The most common troubles you can expect from your toddler at each stage
- How to get started with positive discipline

- Breaking the cycle of tantrums and misbehavior – why they happen and how to stop them
- How to stimulate a creative mind and imagination, as well as build self-esteem and confidence in your toddler

Being a parent is not easy, especially if you are new to parenthood. Being a parent needs to have long patience and determination to be a good role model to them. I love how this books contains ways on how to deal with tantrums, book also include this thing they called "positive discipline",which is very helpful as this can help the mother have strong relationship with their children. The book contains tips on how we should treat our children if they misbehave. Instead of punishing them the book says we need to understand our children as their actions always have reason even if it is silly. This book tells us not to be punitive with our children as this can be a reason for our children to become rebellious. I highly commend this book not only to the new parents out there who struggles with their child but also to those people like me who takes care of their siblings.

"Raising a child isn't always easy, no matter how much love you have for your little one. "

From the very beginning of this book this one statement caught my attention. And I couldn't agree more. I am not still a parent but I can see from others, my friends and my relatives, who are now one that it is indeed so hard to raise a child. Because there is no instruction manual or handbook that can help you with that! Or so I thought...

When I saw this book the first thing that came to me was like "oh, another self help parenting book". And boy was I surprised. This book was so full of information. All that you need to know about toddlers. From the different troubles you may face of raising one up to different training regimens specially made for toddlers. I love how the author gave tips on how to better discipline kids and how to have a positive parenting mindset too. Not only this book teaches the reader about parenting toddlers, it also teaches different problems and their solution like sleep training, bedwetting, potty training and many more. The scope of this book is so wide that it almost covers up everything you need to know about parenting. I also loved that the book is backed up by different scientific and psychological studies that adds to it's credibility. I would definitely recommend this to parents, new or old alike, that I think needs to know more about how to be a better version of themselves. And hey, I hope that what I learned from this book can be applied when I too can have my own child.

    An eye opener!
I read this book with the thought that it's going to be easy after I read it because I will have takeaways regarding parenting, but not only did it give more insights about what it's like to take care and raise a toddler, it opened my eyes to the fact that as long as you will undergo this job called "toddler parenting" it will not really be easy.

From the topics covered, it tells and teaches how to form a positive daily habit for the child, encourage their creativity and imagination, dealing with their tantrums, being patient for potty trainings, and more, it shows just how it takes so much effort in order to properly raise a kid.
But then, it's really good that this book is around because even though it's opening your eyes to the reality, it also brings comfort to know that someone understands what other parents are going through and is there to offer help.

This book will tell you how to become the best support system of your child and how you can deal with their emotional needs and for me, it's something that first-time parents really need to read.

Chapter One: What It Means To Be A Toddler

There are different terms used to describe children between the ages of birth to four years, such as infants, babies, newborns, and toddlers. These terms are often used synonymously, but there is a slight difference between each. Until the baby is two months old, he is called a newborn. The infant is a term used to refer to children until they are 12 months old. Baby is a term collectively used to refer to children who are or less than four years old. Therefore, it includes all the other terms, such as infants, toddlers, and newborns.

Who is a toddler? It turns out there isn't any official definition or an upper limit to the term toddler. Often, it's a term used to define children between the ages group of 12-36 months. The Centers use the same definition For Disease Control And Prevention. A toddler is a child who is learning to walk or toddles. This stage usually starts when a child is about 12 months old. The period between 12-36 months is critical for the baby's growth and development. There is a lot of change your baby needs to get accustomed to during this period. From learning new skills such as interacting with others or talking and walking, to becoming independent, this stage is all about growth.

Major Toddler Milestones

All the things that your little one can do will excite and surprise you. From the first step he takes to the words he utters and the real interactions through verbal and non-verbal communication, there is a lot to look forward to. There are critical milestones for every toddler, which determine his overall growth and progress. Usually, a baby takes his first steps around his first birthday, but this can also vary. No two individuals are alike, and the same stands true for toddlers too. The first milestone, you need to watch out for is when your baby learns to walk. This usually happens when the baby is between 12-18 months old. Parents often worry when their baby doesn't do things that other babies do. Don't be in a rush, and don't worry because they also grow at their own pace. As your baby grows, he will walk alone, run, and indulge in simple physical activities with objects such as playing with a ball or pulling his toys.

Between the ages of 10-14 months, babies utter their first words. Be a little patient, and you might need to listen to a lot of gibberish before he speaks real words. Even if your toddler isn't communicating using actual words, don't worry. Instead, look for other ways he's trying to communicate with you. Other forms of non-verbal communication include pointing, nodding his head, or even staring in a specific direction. It is also an age during which toddlers learn social and emotional skills that help them understand simple concepts such as making others laugh and associating names to their feelings and emotions.

Usually, here is the basic development; you might see your toddler when he is between 12-17 months old.

• Get attached to a stuffed toy or a blanket.

• Starts showing a preference for a specific hand (uses his dominant hand)

• Loves to play games

• Holds out his arms when you dress him

• Grabs hold onto small objects.

• Starts scribbling

• Can chew bigger pieces of food

• Understands and obeys instructions

• Starts to run

Here are the basic developmental milestones you might see your toddler when he is between 18-36 months old.

• Starts insisting on eating by himself

• Likes helping adults with their chores
