    PREFACE

    Like so many home makers I know, I have tried for years to bake beautiful loaves of bread for my family.

    When I bought a new bread machine in December 2017, I had high hopes of finally turning out those delicious loaves I watched my mother bake all through my childhood.

    Still, all I turned out were brick-like loaves that no one in my house (or any other house!) wanted to eat.

    It looked like not even a bread machine could help. But I couldn’t bear to have another kitchen appliance gathering cobwebs on a cupboard shelf.

    That’s when the magic started! I spent several weeks experimenting with bread recipes and recipe methods. What I learned – the secret to baking beautiful bread in your bread machine EVERY time – is that changing one little step in the baking process makes all the difference – and picture-perfect loaves! All I learned and now use to bake bread is contained in this book so you can bake your own amazing and delicious breads – time after time!
