    My words, my thoughts,
    The reasons why I’m me
    Freeverse

I speak with an internal rhyme,

    Words flow all the time,

If my words don’t sound good,

I don’t want them to be mine,

It has to sound just right,

It has to be perfect to my mind,

    These words and these lyrics,

Are the words of my lullaby.

    This poetry is a gift,

    A thought, a past-time, a wish,

    My mind makes them exist,

That's how they stay and persist,

    Writing is very easy,

    But thinking is very hard,

    Thoughts have to come together,

    Together they join in parts.

This is a race against myself,

I’ve already come second best to time,

    I’m always playing catch up,

I always write out of line,

So believe me when I say,

    These words are definitely mine,

I wrote them across my thoughts,

Now I write them to last for time.

    Books

Never judge a book by its cover,

There’s more to me than meets your eye,

    Appearances can be deceiving,

Don’t believe what you see at first sight,

    Beauty is only superficial,

Why don’t you take a read inside?

I’m more than just a pretty face,

But you can still be sold by a smile.

Have a look at my pages,

My chapters are written to entice,

Checkout my content, look at my index,

There the directions that guide you to what’s inside,

But approach my words with caution!

You may not like what you see,

I read with a different outlook,

My words are full of intrigue,

My genres expand to every subject,

I’m deeper than what I may seem.

I could be your favourite novel,

The words you love to read,

At times my words are complex,

    Life isn’t simple at times,

I appeal to you plain and willingly,

    Fiction or Non-fiction,

My tales are written from my mind,

One day my story will come to an end,

Like all good things with time.

    Jekyll is Hyde

    Beautiful yet dark,

    A creation of a heart,

    Majestic but troubled,

    Where do I start?

    Blessed and cursed in parts,

    Complete yet torn apart,

    Tormented by the dark,

    One sides a gentleman,

    The other side’s a mask,

    Madman, or a bart,

    Two natured at heart,

    He has a counterpart,

    Good battles evil,

    Which is the better half?

    Ghana

    I’m from West Africa,

    Ghana to be precise,

The red, the yellow and the green,

With a heart of a black star,

That lives like the air I breathe,

I’m a Ghana boy you better believe,

    Born on a Sunday,

I was blessed with the name of Kwesi,

    Formed independence in 1957,

Freedom and justice set us free,

Twi is the language I speak,

    Akwaaba, welcome,

    This is my poetry.

I’m a village boy you see,

Born and raised in down town Kumasi,

Where I spent most of my childhood climbing trees,

    The capital is Accra,

    It’s all about
