**********
Today is Monday. It is Monday morning, and all the people in Lee’s family are sitting in the kitchen. They are having breakfast, and they are speaking about what the children will do at school today.
Today, in the afternoon, all the children in class three will go outside the school. They will go to see a farm. Their teacher will take them to see a farm because she wants them to know all about farms.
––––––––
The teacher knows that there a lot of things to see and do on a farm. She thinks it will be very good for the children if they can see all the things there are on a farm.
––––––––
The teacher and the children will walk around the farm. They will speak to the people on the farm, and they will look at all the animals. The teacher wants the children to see what the people on the farm are doing. She wants the children to see how the people look after the animals on the farm.
––––––––
The children will take their books, pens and pencils with them. They will write about what they see, and they will write about what the farm people speak about. After that, in the classroom, the children will write more about the farm. They will try to write about all the things they can remember.
Next, the teacher will look at the children’s books. She will look to see if their writing is correct or not. If the writing is correct, every boy and girl will read to all the other boys and girls in the class.
**********
Daddy and Lee are speaking about the things on a farm.
Daddy
Mommy says you will go to see a farm this afternoon.
––––––––
Lee
Yes, that’s right. Our teacher will take all the children in our class to see a farm. She says it’s a very big farm. She says we can walk all around the farm.
––––––––
Daddy
If it’s a very big farm, there will be a lot of animals, won’t there?
––––––––
Lee
Yes, I think so. Our teacher says there will be a lot of animals, a lot of trees and a lot of other things to see, too.
––––––––
Daddy
Good. What will you do after you walk around the farm?
––––––––
Lee
After we see all the farm, we will write about all the things we can remember.
––––––––
Daddy
And after that?
––––––––
Lee
After that, we will have to give our books to the teacher.
––––––––
Daddy
Why do you have to do that?
––––––––
Lee
Because the teacher wants to see if our writing is correct, or not. If it is correct, we will read our writing to all the other children in the class.
––––––––
Daddy
Oh, I like that. I think you and Pat will have a very good day today.
––––––––
Lee
I think so, too. Goodbye, Daddy. See you this afternoon.
––––––––
Daddy
Goodbye, Lee. See you this afternoon. Have a good day!

Now, it is Monday afternoon and the children are at the farm with their teacher. The teacher is speaking to the farmer. She is asking him a lot of questions. She wants to know all about the farm, and she wants the children to know all about the farm, too.

There are a lot of animals on this farm. There are a lot of chickens and ducks, and there are some cows. There are five dogs and three cats, too.
Look at all the chickens. There really are a lot. The chickens are running all around the farm. They can run all around the farm, but they cannot go into the farmhouse.
––––––––
The farmhouse is where the farmer and his family live. The farmer and his family don’t want the chickens to go into their house. They know that if the chickens go into their house, the chickens will make the house dirty.

Lee is asking the farmer some questions.
Lee
Excuse me. Can I ask you some questions about your farm?
