It was six in the morning. As the soft rays of the sun hit the roads and as peace and quiet filled the street serenely, he ran. He wore a yellow shirt and tattered jeans that clung way below his waist – fashion as he may call it, it became an obvious disaster as he ran as fast as his legs could carry him. Women and children turned away from the horrendous sight, while some men, who were up early, pointed at him and laughed. He became breathless and his heart pounded hard as he ran through the narrow lanes of Mumbai, hoping to escape from the pumped up CB-CID team that was following him.

Detective Raunak yelled as he held his revolver in his hands, his muscles flexed, his body wet with sweat. The dream of so many people to watch Detective Raunak in action had come true that day. They made way for him but surrounded him at a distance, watching him with awe, as if a top actor had landed in their vicinity for shooting. Some began clicking pictures and recording him in action, while some went a little further and started YouTube and Instagram live. The views began pouring in and likes began flowing. The media had a hot and juicy piece of news to run for the entire month – Detective Raunak in action!
The CB-CID team was triumphing with pleasure at the attention they were getting. They did know that it was for their super boss and not for them, but still they had all the reason to gloat, for they knew their success or their boss’ were all interconnected. Never had they separated their glory from his and neither did he separate his from theirs. Detective Raunak passed on every credit, every appreciation and every success to his team, taking responsibility for all discredit or sticky situations. That is why his team loved him and
