    CHAPTER ONE

Today was the day. To Shane, who was a senior in high school, it was a big day for him. Today was going to be one of the best days of his life. On this day, he was going to his Senior Prom with a girl he loved and cared about. This isn’t just any girl. This girl meant everything to Shane. They weren’t going to Prom as friends. They were going as boyfriend and girlfriend and they’ve been dating since they were freshmen. Shane wasn’t just anybody. He was a quarterback for his high school team and his girlfriend Cheryl, was a cheerleader. They were both in varsity since freshmen and they were really good at what they do.

Three years ago when they meant. Things were as comfortable as they are now but things were  opposite and really awkward now. It all started when Shane was walking outside and Cheryl stopped him.

    Hi, excuse me? Cheryl asked.

    Ugh… Hi.

Are you Shane Exert? The freshmen superstar quarterback who they said was dropped dead amazing at throwing the football? Cheryl asked.

Yes I am and who are you? Shane asked.

    I’m Cheryl Geld.

    Nice to meet you.

    Nice to meet you too.

They shook hands and Shane was shaking his hand weird because he was so nervous. He was shivering while he was shaking Cheryl’s hand. Cheryl shook his hand quite well.

    Is everything alright? Cheryl asked.

    Yeah… It’s just well… You’re very pretty.

    Oh thank you.

    Shane gulped.

    Here.

Cheryl handed Shane a plate with tin foil on it.

    What’s this? Shane asked.

Open it and find out for yourself.

Shane opened it and it was cake.

Thank you but what did I do to deserve this? Shane asked.

Well, I’m a cheerleader and since this is our biggest game of the year, each cheerleader want to give cake to a player on the team.

Thank you again. I wish I got you something because now I feel bad.

Don’t feel bad. Just win the game.

    We will…

    Cheryl started to walk away.

    Wait.

    Wait what? Cheryl asked.

Um… Are you single? Shane asked.

    Indeed I am.

Would you like to do something. Like with me? On a date? Shane asked.

    Are you serious? Cheryl asked.

    Ugh… Kind of.

    I would love to.

Cheryl handed Shane a piece of paper with her phone number on it.

This is legit right? Not a fake number right?" Shane asked.

    Trust me. It’s not fake.

Ok sweet. Call me tonight and we can plan to hang out when we’re both free.

This is how their relationship started. Shane was in bed and his mother stormed into the room with excitement. As soon as she got into the room, she put both hands on his Shane and started shaking the bed. The whole bed was moving and if there was an earthquake in the bedroom.

    SHANE HONEY WAKE UP!

    Mom… I’m awake.

I don’t want you to be late for your Prom.

I won’t… It’s only nine in the morning. Prom isn’t until five.

Yeah… But you need to get your tuxedo and flower.

    We have time.

Shane’s mother took a picture of him sleeping. There was a big flash of light from the camera and Shane made a face.

Mom, what are you doing? Shane asked.

    Taking pictures.

I know that but why? Shane asked.

Because it’s not every day you wake up and it’s Prom day. I’m taking pictures because it’s memories that’s going to last forever.

    Okay… Okay… I’m getting up.

Shane got out of the bed and his mother gave him a big hug.

    I love you Shane.

    I love you too mom.

Shane’s mother let him go and Shane got ready for the day. He took a shower, brushed his teeth, ironed his clothes and got into his car and drove to the warehouse to get his tuxedo. Shane didn’t just have any car, he had a used one but he put upgrades to it to make it fast. There was a customize exhaust and was louder than any other car could ever possibly be.. The car was so loud that it sounded like a building had just collapsed.

He was driving really fast. The wind pounding on the glass. All of a sudden, something happened. Something bad. He almost hit another car.

    Hey! Watch it.

    You watch it, Shane yelled.

Shane got out of the car because he was really mad. It wasn’t just one person’s fault, it was both driver’s fault because they were both speeding past the speed limit. Shane was expecting one person to come out of the car to fight him but he was totally wrong. More than one person came out of the car. In fact, five people came out of car. Usually, people’s hearts were pounding hard when they were about to get into a fight and they are outnumbered but not Shane. Shane questioned himself whether or not this was worth fighting because today, he had Prom.

What’s the worst that can happen? Shane asked.

Do we still got a problem tough guy? He asked.

Damn right we still have a problem.

All five guys surrounded Shane and they were all about to fight. The five guys were confident they were going to beat Shane up so bad because they outnumbered him in many things. He was outnumbered by people, size and strength.

Last chance, to walk away, Shane said.

    Everyone laughed.

Give us a break kid. All five of us are double your size and strength. Do you really think you can take us all on? one of the guys said

    We’re about to find out.

Shane wasn’t just an ordinary human. He had fire inside of him that made him  a warrior. They started the fight first and then it began. Everyone stopped that was nearby and looked at them because they knew that they were going to fight. Everyone had different opinions on this. People were having different thought concerning what was happening.

Oh shit. They’re about to fight. I better record this and better put it online. I’ll be famous in no time.

Oh no… Please don’t tell me that they’re going to fight.

    FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT.

This is what was going through people’s minds.

They all surrounded Shane and one of them threw a punch at his face. Shane caught it and broke his arm and he was on the ground crying. There were four guys left and two of them came at Shane at the exact same time. Shane grabbed one of them and threw him at the other person. There were two people left. Both of them looked at each other. They soon both ran away.

    Shane sighed and nodded his
