    PART ONE:

    The Old Testament

    Genesis -The Beginning

And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the LORD. Genesis 4:26 (NKJV)

    When will you begin?

Genesis is known as the beginning, the start, when GOD created all things. When will you begin to stop looking behind you and to start looking toward your future? Adam and Eve had to deal with the loss of two kids. I know that everyone has to deal with hard things. The challenge will come when GOD gives you something new to start.

Your beginning should start with calling on the name of the LORD. Many, many people find it hard to call on the LORD because their troubles appear to be so hard to bear. After losing Cain, Adam knew his wife Eve again, in an intimate way, and conceived Seth. GOD can give you a new beginning that will be a seed for the growing. Take a moment to see what your seed is that GOD is birthing in this new place.

When you are walking with GOD, Genesis does not just happen every January 1st. Your Genesis can begin with you calling on his name. You have been given a seed in your words to plant your beginning so it can grow. Seth had a son and his name was Enosh.

The Bible tells us, For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 (NKJV)

We need to know how to begin or how to start over. GOD does not want his people stuck, not knowing where to begin. GOD loves you and wants you to know you can start over. This time, start by calling on his name. With your new beginning, don’t waste time asking for things; get into his word, and you will know what a new start looks like.

The children of Israel got a new beginning and had a hard time transitioning from the old to the new. Remember, they were free from their hard taskmaster, but during hard times they called on the LORD’s name. They continued to blame man for their circumstances. Don’t get caught in a vicious cycle like them. GOD has appointed you a time to begin, and that time is when you open your mouth and call on his name.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)

I am so amazed at how GOD honors his word in the word. I can see Seth and his son Enosh calling on GOD to guide them and to help them be who He called them to be. This is why we can see this will be the beginning. One thing to notice, and not to take for granted, is the accountability between the two.

GOD will give you someone to be accountable to in your journey. That can be a start. It will be the one you think is judging you but really has your best interest at heart. The best way to know this is to watch them call on the name of the LORD for you and for themselves. This can be a clear identifier. This person is not just doing this for a moment, or just because you need prayer, but because they know this walk is for a lifetime. When you call on his name you have begun. This will set a level of reverence that will grow.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)

This is a good beginning. To know you will have wisdom, knowledge and understanding because you called on the name of the LORD is a great start. How do you want to start?

I believe that the LORD wants you to begin by knowing what LORD means. LORD is a person you will give control over to. Give him control through your obedience and know you will grow in knowledge, understanding and wisdom. You will become even more like Jesus.

And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with GOD and man. Luke 2:52 (NIV)

I pray that you start today. Today is your new beginning; you will never have to start over again. GOD wants you to have a fresh start. He is a GOD of many chances.

I pray that you will get your heart right. Draw close to GOD as He draws close to you, so that your relationship with him while becoming a new creature will begin with wisdom.

I come into agreement with you, so that there will be at least two people agreeing that you’re new. As you see your purpose, a new desire will be stirred up. You won’t need a resolution because you will have a revelation that you can begin now.

Exodus - It’s Time to Go

And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty. Exodus 3:21 (KJV)

Know when it is time to go. There has always been moments in your life when GOD has said, move. There are several things you will miss out on if you are not obedient when it is time for your Exodus. Your favor, time, and prosperity will all go down the drain. The one thing the children of GOD didn’t understand was their favor with GOD. Through your obedience, when GOD has said it’s time to go, you have been favored. It is only through fear and/or pride that you don’t move. Let us not beat around the bush and think it is anything else but fear or pride. You will rationalize yourself out of favor.

Fear is one of the major things that still haunts GOD’s children because where He is taking them is unknown. GOD has shown you great things, just like He did with the children of Israel. Still, you have complained and have not moved.

You have even said some things like, Until He shows me, without a shadow of doubt, I am not moving, or, GOD is going to have to come down and show me a sign.

This is after He has shown you more than the ten plagues He showed to Israel. Don’t mess with your favor. When GOD tells you to leave that job, that relationship, or even your parent’s house, it is time to go.

Abram was told to pack up his things and leave his father’s house. (In Genesis 12:4) Abram took Lot with him and ventured out. One thing to remember is that not everyone can go with you. GOD still favored them both in that the livestock increased which was their commonwealth. But, it was not until Lot separated from Abram that GOD showed him the full favor of all the land he and his descendants would possess.

Stop wasting time. Time cannot be bought. Time cannot be replaced. The truth of the matter is time cannot be made up. The power of GOD can hold back time for a little while, but time still must move forward. This is why when He says move, you must move. Messing with time can and will have a great impact on your favor.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

Still, more people will say, I am waiting on GOD, and not realize that GOD has already done a thing for them. We are to move or to walk into what He has already established. The land was already flowing with milk and honey. When you are flowing with the spirit, you cannot miss the timing of GOD.

Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV) says, "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

In all the things in this world, time cannot be changed. When it is time to move, just do it.

Do you believe that you can miss what GOD has for you? Do you think that your mistake can make you miss your opportunity for prosperity? There are too many examples in the Bible of people missing the mark because they did things which cost them favor, time and opportunity. What you want is in somebody else’s hand.

"…and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just." Proverbs 13:22 (KJV)

When it is time to move in to your favor, GOD will cause even your enemies to let go of what they hold precious.

You cannot get what you have asked GOD for when fear keeps you from moving. GOD’s children borrowed things from their oppressors, and then GOD canceled the debt when they crossed the Red Sea. They didn’t realize that GOD was giving them back pay and setting them up for prosperity.

When it is time to go from one level to the next, when it is time to elevate, or when it is time to change from fear to freedom, you have to be ready to go.

I pray that you won’t let fear stop you. Be ready for this change GOD has for you. Stand today and get yourself ready to move. Set your eyes on the smoke by day and the fire by night. GOD is looking forward to taking you to your land that flows with milk and honey. Don’t hinder your favor because of disobedience; obey and let the window of heaven be open to you. There is an overflow of blessing that is ready to overtake you.

    Leviticus - Set Your Boundaries

And I will walk among you, and will be your GOD, and ye shall be my people. Leviticus 26:12 (KJV)

When people today don’t want to be labeled or don’t want to follow the rules, they can set themselves up for chaos. More people, while enjoying the ride, can lose their boundaries for a moment until the thing they fear comes upon them. The thing they fear can soon steamroll out of control. Boundaries are put in place to keep you safe from the unknown. They are there to make sure you don’t go into an unknown place without the wisdom and knowledge of preparation.

The world’s laws change with the democracy of those who vote. GOD’s laws never change. He knows what happens when we break them. This is not just punitive measures, but also what happens to our mind, body and soul.

Jesus walked among us because He wants to show us how to live. He wants to be the ultimate example in our lives. This is why we need him in our lives. This life is not a race, but a journey that is carried out with each step. These steps happen one at a time.

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." Psalms 37:23 (KJV)

This journey happens by being in the presence of the one true GOD. Contrary to some of his children’s beliefs, GOD does not want a long distance relationship. GOD does not want you to have to figure everything out. He wants to take this journey He planned out for you with you. More of my brothers and sisters in the LORD have great difficulty seeing a GOD who sits so high that wants to come down to be with them.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, John 1:14 (KJV)

This is a boundary that needs to be set in the ever communion with GOD on earth. This should be a law in your life. If anyone tries to break this law, they will be punished by banishment. You should not give any allowances for those who would come between you and GOD.

If you have not determined who and what GOD is to you, then you’re in trouble. This should also be another established law in your life. No one should ever approach you without you having an answer for who is GOD to you. I am not talking about your standby answer you give on the fly by rote. I am happy about that, but you should often give the heartfelt answer that makes people think about their relationship with GOD.

GOD wants to be the Alpha and Omega of your relationship. When people meet you, they should see him. I know this can be a challenge; but remember, He is GOD and all you have to be is you. GOD wants to be more than a Santa Claus and a problem solver in your life. When you’re in a relationship with him, it is, and should be, more than having someone there to complain to. He wants to share with you what is on his mind, as well as listen to what is on your mind.

I laugh at this because all I see is GOD asking, Where’s my people at? He is saying, where are those who care and love me? Where are those
