About this ebook

This title came about over years of sitting in various types of services and speaking to myself, saying "That's not what God was saying" or "That's not what that meant." We find in 2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Then we find in Acts 17:11, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Point being, we shouldn't just accept any and everything we've been taught but go back and see if those things line up. We should always listen with an open mind but then go and verify its validity, hence there are many doctrines that don't line up with scriptural truth. Therefore, God gave me license to print some of the major contradictions. Sometimes we go with what we were taught instead of verifying its truths.

    Preface

This is a book given by the inspiration of God to dispel many of the doctrines that have been set forth that do not follow God’s truths.

One of the writers of Proverbs stated, with all thy getting get understanding (Prov. 4:7). For whatever reasons, many sermons, passages in books, plays, movies, etc., have Thus sayeth the Lord written on them. A lot of this has been done without a clear understanding of what God was really saying or doing! Now we know God’s word says He is not the author of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33). The scripture also tells us that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation (2 Pet. 1:20). Now I have stated these passages only to convey that God never intended for His word to cause confusion within the body of Christ or that any one individual would claim to have the interpretation no one else has. Nevertheless, while Solomon scribed a truth, there is no new thing under the sun (Eccl. 1:9), sometimes hidden truths are revealed in time. Paul once scribed, "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith (Rom. 16:25–26, emphasis added). Paul also scribed, How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)" (Eph. 3:3–4). God reveals things in His time.

My prayer is that every person who reads and researches the scriptural information given in this book would approach it with no preconceived notions of what this writing may or may not be about. Simply allow God to open your understanding. Do not read this with information you’ve heard in past sermons. My prayer also is that you would allow God to develop the skill in you to rightly divide His word so that you might fully see what He is saying. This is not to say no one can understand, but that those who lack understanding would be enlightened more. A well-renowned author and minister once said that a good teacher is one who can still be taught and a great leader is one who can still follow. My father in the faith once stated we must learn to eat the meat and throw the bones out. Therefore, keep the meat of that which you consider substance and discard that which you consider not profitable. Finally, remember that while there may be many applications of God’s word, there is only one interpretation of it in any given scripture. Keep in mind an application is how you apply God’s word in any given situation. Where an interpretation is exactly what God meant! There are many doctrines of man versus truths of the Bible, but we’ll only touch on a few this time.

You will notice many references to pastors in this work, not to criticize them. These references are only to bring notice to their responsibility of accountability for the health of their flock. We all have a level of accountability for our purpose in this walk. Some have more than others. That doesn’t place one above the other, but it only brings notice to our places and purpose.

    Acknowledgments

I first want to thank the Lord for selecting me to pen a few truths needed for His bride.

I next want to thank my wife, Mia, for being patient with me as I took much of the time I could have been spending with her to nurture our relationship. However, she recognized that God had a bigger purpose that would actually be considered short. Thank you, baby.

I would like to thank my mother Janet and father George who put me in a place to establish a foundation of faith. A special thanks to my mother for being an example of one who remains steadfast in ministry no matter the storms that arise.

I would like to thank my father in the faith, Pastor Lafayette, for displaying what a real man of God looks and sounds likes when he spends time in God’s word.

A final word of thanks to my current pastor, Pastor West, for allowing me to take time out of the music ministry in order to complete this work God has given me.

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58).

    God Assessment Perspective

I need you to answer the following questions before you continue reading this book. The following information needs to be clarified before you can honestly approach this work objectively:

Is the God of your faith all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere all the time? (yes or no)

Is the God of your faith flawless or perfect? (yes or no)

Would the God of your faith lie? (yes or no)

Would the God of your faith exaggerate matters? (yes or no)

Could the God of your faith miss the mark? (yes or no)

From your limited understanding, do you believe everything God allowed to be written in the Holy Bible is true? (yes or no)

Is the God your faith the same God spoken of in the Holy Bible? (yes or no)

Is anything too hard for your God? (yes or no)

If you answered incorrectly, go and reevaluate who your god is (little g) and then continue reading. In order to receive the information in this book, you must first believe that the God of the Holy Bible is real and is always in control! With each section of this book, it is imperative that you reflect back to this assessment in order to keep things in perspective.

    Chapter 1

    God’s Power and Wisdom

The Bible begins in the book of Genesis, which states, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void (Gen. 1:1–2). There is a doctrinal teaching that the earth was in a chaotic mess because of the word void. The word can also mean emptiness or state of chaos. Even if we accept both definitions, we must first put them in perspective of who they are associated with. If you know and understand who God is, then you would understand that He is perfect and what He speaks is perfect. If we read God’s word as a natural man, then we might interpret this encounter as a chaotic mess. However, when we look at it from a spiritual standpoint and understanding who God is, then we understand that without form means nothing was placed on earth as yet, therefore void or empty. A chaotic mess denotes total disorganization as well as lack of purpose. Anyone who knows or understands God just a little will know this is all contrary to His character. People’s faith in God tends to waiver because God is presented in many ways contrary to who He really is! Because of His magnificence, it’s really hard to describe who He is without making Him somewhat limited as we are. At any rate, we need to check what we anticipate saying before we just throw it out there. We should not just comment on everything. Solomon once scribed there’s a time to keep silence, and a time to speak (Eccl. 3:7). We, as ministers of the gospel, should put this into action more often.

While we don’t know the time span between when God created the heaven and the earth and when He created the first night and day, we do know that when God speaks, His words always accomplish what they’re set forth to accomplish (Isa. 55:11). When it comes to things in time, God knows the end from the beginning. I’m not saying He doesn’t know things outside of time because He does! However, for the sake of clarity on this topic, we must keep in mind that time as we know it did not exist until God created the heavens and the earth. When God spoke something into existence, it was!
