The book of Genesis undoubtedly has some of the hardest passages in the bible to unravel for correct interpretations. This was not meant to be easy, but to be unraveled in the later days before Christ's return.
This book unravels the mystery behind Genesis Chapters 1-6

PROLOGUE
But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Daniel 12:4 (AKJV)
The book of Genesis has some of the most misunderstood / misrepresented truths in the Bible. The apologetics surrounding many chapters and verses differ significantly from author to author and most have little to no evidence to support the interpretation given or they step out of the known moral disposition of God. There is a hierarchal truth to the scriptures but if some of the fundamental understandings are incorrect, it will cascade that incorrect understanding to several other passages and misrepresent who God is. As you read this book, you will notice that I use Jesus’s Hebrew name Yehoshua instead of the translation more commonly known as Jesus. You may also see this as Yeshua which is the short form of Yehoshua. In the English this name is to be interpreted Joshua. In Hebrew it means salvation
. The name Jesus was actually a translation from classical Hebrew to Greek, then to Latin, and then into French. Jesus, as name in scripture, is not found anywhere in the Old Testament, but his Hebrew name is found throughout it! This is important because יֵשׁוּעַ / Yehoshua means salvation
and is an additional pointer to who Yehoshua was going to be and what He has done. I will also follow his name with the Hebrew transliteration HaMashiach. Translated HaMashiach
which means anointed one
. An expanded translation of the name Yehoshua HaMashiach
means The Anointed one who Saves
or Anointed Salvation
.
One other thing I want to pass on before we start the exposition of Genesis. The understanding of chapters Genesis 1-6 is not a critical doctrine as it relates to the requirements for salvation. Many people disagree on the meaning of many non-critical doctrines and have their names written in the Lambs book of life (Rev 13:8). The reason I feel that this book had to be written was not to correct what I perceived as a salvational error, but because the incorrect understanding of Genesis has been a stumbling block for many Christians and non-believers alike who have believed it’s interpretation to be part myth. I agree with them that the classical held understanding is not true; but the truth is in it. Since many of the traditionally accepted interpretations of the first chapters of Genesis are in error, this has brought into question the rest of scripture. We need to get to the truth of what these chapters actually mean.
We also must test ALL things by the written word of God. Some things simply will not be known until we get to Heaven. We must be satisfied with such things as He has revealed. Mind you, that does not mean we can’t fast and pray for the answer now. He may give it to us by divine revelation. However, if that happens it may also mean the answer is for you only. If we do not have the scriptures to back up the revelation, we still should not teach it.
This book will challenge many old apologetics on these first 6 chapters of Genesis that have been handed down for decades and even centuries of ecclesiastical teachings. You should also understand that God doesn’t want to just hand out scriptural truth with no effort required to study them for yourself. You should take the time to study every Bible passage presented here for yourself. Only then can it build your faith and understanding.
Along these lines of thought, have you ever wondered why God spoke in allegories, types and shadows, or hidden prophesies… and why He didn’t just plainly tell us the way of things? It certainly isn’t because He couldn’t, but Yehoshua gives us a hint about why He doesn’t in the gospel of Mathew.
Mathew 13:13 (AKJV)
¹³ Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
By cloaking much of the word in types and shadows, prophesy, parables, and allegories, only those to whom God reveals the truth will understand the meaning. There is a time and place for every prophesy and every lesson is thereby specifically designed for each reader.
He teaches us by creating a custom person-by-person teaching course consisting of a hierarchy of revelation. This way He shares with the student of His word only what the student is ready for or when the time and place is right for the revelation. If the reader is only ready for the milk of the word, then that is all he will get. When the reader is ready for more in-depth portions of the word then He will share those. God also uses prophesies for revelations at the time they are needed; until that time, they remain hidden in the scriptures.
One more thing: He also rewards those that diligently seek him. If you are ambivalent in your studies and prayer life, then do not expect to get anything other than the basics of understanding. What effort are you willing to put into the relationship? This may be a surprise to some people who think that God wants us to all know everything immediately, but there is a time and place for every revelation God shares from His word. That person may not be ready for some biblical truths to be revealed to him. That is why we can read the scriptures repeatedly and each time come away with something we haven’t seen before. It is being presented to us by God as a custom lesson plan designed for each person, where we start at the milk of the word and progress to the meat of the word. Many in the church today believe they know the meat of the word but in fact are still drinking milk.
If someone does not care to put forth the effort to understand the deep things of God, such as the intricacies of creation (both the material realm and the spirit realm), or are ambivalent about them, then why would God reward him with anything other than a very basic understanding? Also remember that you will be reading this book with some preconceived ideas that may be contrary to what I will present as the truth. Only through exhaustive study of the scriptures in a prayerful mental attitude and disciplined through the fear of God, along with the help of the Holy Spirit, can we properly understand His word. I expect my brothers and sisters in the Lord to study the word and NOT just accept what I am saying as truth. You must be convinced of it yourself or have God tell you where I missed it! Until you have prayed and fasted about the contents of this book, do not attempt to write me with a rebuttal of what you are about to read. I have had long nights wrestling with our Lord about the things revealed in this book, so please do the same if you have any doubts. Settle for nothing less than the truth and do not rest until you get it and the Lord will reward you. If you do that first, I welcome you to discuss these subjects with me.

⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Before we begin, we first need to understand something very basic and that is what exactly is the Bible?
Let’s start with what the Bible is not:
The Bible is not an astronomical, geological, physics, or biological science book of the ages of the Earth. I do not mean that it will not have anything about those subjects, but it does not cover any in depth. For example, it does not detail how the Earth was made: whether it was from matter created in a physical / natural process or a more direct miraculous process. It is fruitless to argue with science about information that is expounded upon in the scientific realm that are about subjects the Bible was never intended to address. God is both the creator (and therefore the greatest scientist of all), and the author of the Bible. As such, good science will also bear witness to God.
Do not neglect to look at Creation and the science behind it, as it is a witness testifying to the power and intellect of God. The scriptures are another witness, but one that is focused on the nature of God and what his will is for us. Science and scripture will not disagree with each other where they overlap in content and where both the science is good and the scriptures are properly interpreted! God is not a liar to do one thing and tell us something else. We also need to stop trying to put God in a box and tell him to how He would create anything. For some unknown reason, Christians have a very bad tendency to think everything had to happen in some miraculous create out of thin air
type of action. The natural processes God created in the beginning of the universe through physics are just as divine and majestic as a miracle done in front of us. Both are processes from God.
The Bible does not contain information on how God formed the Heavens (other than by his word). He has left that to true scientific discovery. Astrophysics are fascinating and tell an incredible story of creation by a God that encompasses all of space. Mind you, not all science is true and not all biblical interpretation is true, but both in a correct understanding and interpretation ARE TRUE and HARMONIUS.
The Bible also does not concern itself with lifeform changes in the ancient paleontological periods of the Earth. Do not look for dinosaurs in its pages and do not try to make a square peg fit in a round hole. I have heard some of the most elaborate rabbit hole
explanations surrounding dinosaurs for example. That they were existing since the time of Noah and that the flood jumbled dinosaur bones. These are just fabrications of fantasy and neither science nor scripture supports that. They do not confirm the God of the Universe with sound science and scripture but instead, warp one or the other into an elaborately spun fairy tale to match a false narrative. This undermines good eschatological and epistemological evidence.
We will cover this in some depth when we talk about the time gap between verse 1 and 2 of Genesis, but for now understand that there is almost nothing in the Bible that covers the details and time periods before the present dispensation of the final creation. Notice I did say almost, and not that there is nothing
in scriptures. God did leave us some understanding of why things are the way they are in this present age, but only because it is still being influenced by the past. Those defining passages are only to set up the answer to the questions of the why’s
and what for’s
of the present age. It also does not tell what is going on all over the Earth but focuses primarily on what geographically are the modern-day countries of Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Greece, Italy, etc. The histories of North America, Canada, South America, Antarctica, Arctic, Greenland, etc. are not within its pages though there are some general world references (Gen 1:1 and Revelation for example) that come into play with future prophetic events (but that is for another time and another book).
What the Bible is:
The Bible is a book of this final dispensation of creation and focuses almost completely on
