About this ebook

This book serves as a reminder of the beauty of single-hood and the encouragement to fully seek the purpose of the Lord for your life. Living single, even while following Christ, can be challenging and painful if you are not aware of basic knowledge that will assist you in progressing in single-hood. The Lord exclaims, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Sometimes the knowledge is so basic that when discovered, you wonder and ask what held you back from the knowledge in the first place. The Most High does not fully and directly explain in detail what the single life is to look like. His glory conceals, seals, and then reveals secrets: our duty is to seek and search out those things He has both revealed and hidden-including the unique and precious journey of single-hood.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

    (Isaiah 52:7)

"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the Word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you"

    (1 Peter 1:24-25)

My first book is dedicated first and chiefly to The Most High God. I also dedicate this book to the righteous generation to come within my family and the righteous generation the Lord has scattered across the earth.

I am not an expert or scholar on being single but have written with my spirit and the guidance of the Holy Spirit- my thoughts, insights, and common knowledge. This is a book of ponder and observation so one may further seek those things that must be sought after.

    PART 1

    THE PATH

    CHAPTER 1

    The Order of Things

E ach individual that walks the face of this earth was created by the thought of The Most High and then by His very words spoken into existence. Because we were created by the hand of God through Christ and in His very likeness, we were first spirits waiting for the appointed time to be manifested into flesh in this specific generation. We were with the Almighty in the beginning; created with distinct purposes and paths to fulfill His perfect will in our lives- eventually leading us to partake of the tree of life. We not only were created in the beginning, but Christ and the Holy Spirit (wisdom) knew of our creation because they already existed. Wisdom says, The LORD possessed me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old; I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was (Proverbs 8: 22-23). Evidence of Christ’s existence is evident by the declaration, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God; the same was in the beginning with God; all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made; in him was life; and the life was the light of men (John 1:1-4). In essence, we were created by the word of The Most High and through the living Word, Christ.

On the sixth day of creation, after He spoke Adam into existence, God looked upon His workmanship and was very pleased. Adam was not only commanded to expand the earth, but was given charge over the Garden of Eden. Shortly after, Eve was formed from Adam. So, Adam was given a mission before his wife was created and Eve was created as a blessing and help for him.

Like Adam and Eve, we were all appointed a mission. We all have a purpose and destiny to accomplish. Many have known since childhood that they were born for greatness. Depending on your background, some or all of your gifts and talents were developed or none were truly developed at all. Some of you may know all of your gifts, some of them, or have no idea what you are gifted in. Regardless, God knows all that He has placed inside of you to do in your lifetime and has known since the beginning.

For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren; moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified (Romans 8:29-30).

Anyone who is a true child of God can let this promise sink in and be assured that your destiny is crying out for your possessing. I believe most people want their destiny. The seed to fulfill your destiny is inside of you and you really can’t shake it off-even if you wanted or tried to. You could forfeit and waste your destiny if you want to but you would not be happy if and when you found out just what God has designed for you specifically. A beautiful blueprint for your life, so well designed, that though you can find promises in His word about how He loves us, will never leave or forsake us, and has plans to prosper us, you cannot find details or a laid-out manuscript anywhere in this world of what He wants to do for and through you. Of course, this is done on purpose as He is perfect in all His ways. Our thoughts are not His thoughts, nor our ways His. He wants to see if you will fully trust and follow Him to the end to discover your full destiny. Are you willing to seek out your destiny irrespective of circumstances, obstacles, fear, and regressive emotions. Irrespective of your past, background, and unfortunate events you had no control of? If you truly desire to complete your destiny and partake in all that was created for you, you would have to wholly seek the Lord to overstand how to love, know, and believe Him; you would really have to seek His face and ask for guidance and direction on how to live a life that is pleasing to Him and guidance on what doors you should or shouldn’t enter. You would have to ask for wisdom for life and in order to see your destiny a reality.

It is one thing to desire your destiny but have no idea what exactly you were created for yet, you still strive to seek for it. Even if you were to seek the Lord and live a life where you do your best to serve your family, community, and others, but still was not aligned with your destiny: although it would not be God’s best for you, it still, at least, would be a life on the right path. Yet, it is an entirely different subject and idea for one to knowingly or unknowingly aggressively seek to fulfill
