About this ebook

Do you feel like your spiritual life is not growing, finding yourself questioning your salvation, asking whether you are truly saved or not, why your prayers are not being answered, and having to explain to others the reason for your faith even though you are not sure what to believe?

Open this book and discover what Rohan Brooks has discovered over the years through reading, prayer, and fasting. He uncovers the true meaning of being a child of God, how to walk by the Spirit and not by the Levitical laws, receiving God's anointing with delight, and welcoming the Holy Spirit into our lives.

As believers, whether we understand it or not, we are heirs, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. God has put everything in place for mankind to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth so man can live with God, but this cannot come to pass if we remain sinful. For man to be with God, sin had to be dealt with, and God did that through His Son, Jesus, who became sin to set us free from it.

The biblically-based, time-examined tenets in this book will provoke and alter the way you interpret the Bible and pray. Be prepared to move into a new element of your faith with a greater revelation of God's love and a revived appreciation that your faith mixed with prayer can truly turn the hand of God.

    Introduction

First and foremost, I want to thank the Lord, my God, for granting me the knowledge, the understanding, and the wisdom necessary to write this book. It is because of His grace and mercies why we are all here, and for Him to open His words to me is truly a blessing. I will also offer a prayer of thanks to you, the reader, for purchasing this book, and I urge you to give precedence to the spiritual realism being expressed in this book and not so much the linguistic in which it was written.

The Secret Law of Grace is a book that I have been working on since the Lord opened my eyes to His truth. The reason I opted to write this book is because for many years, I have witnessed people, including myself, struggle to live the life that we are called to live. This book will provide some of the answers to the many questions that Christians all over the world may have. In my first book, Adventures of Grace, I explained that we are no longer living under the laws given to Moses on Mount Sinai but instead, we are now living under grace, for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes (Romans 10:4). Now does that mean that we can do what we please? The answer is a resounding no! Though we are not under the law but under grace, we still have rules that we must live by. That is the reason for this book, the Secret Law of Grace.

In everything, for it to survive over the course of time, there must be some laws, rules, or principles that govern it. Laws are necessary to preserve the integrity of an idea. As Ecclesiastes 3:1 reads, To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. As you can see from this verse, order is necessary, and there cannot be order if there are no regulations. This book, The Secret Law of Grace, will shed some light on these laws which are not spelled out like the laws given to Moses and Aaron, the high priest, but is revealed as you go through scriptures. When God made the covenant with Abraham, God said, "As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations" (Genesis 17:4). The promise God made with Abraham was not fulfilled by the laws given to Moses but was fulfilled through the coming of the Messiah. With the arrival of Christ, our Lord and Savior, God’s promise to Abraham had come to pass, and with the death and resurrection of Jesus, the era of grace had begun. Since we are no longer under the laws given to Moses but under grace, which by the way comes with its own regulations, how do we live, for it is written, It was not through the Law that Abraham and his descendants were promised that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith (Romans 4:13)? We also know through the Scriptures that faith is total trust in God.

In this book, I will reveal to you through scriptures the secret law of grace that was given so that mankind can live the life Christ died for us to live, the holy life, for God said, Be Holy for I am Holy (1 Peter 1:16). When I found this out, I was going through a dark period in my life which caused me to fast and pray and study scriptures for over a year, keeping myself from anything unclean, and it was during this time that my eyes were opened to the truth of the Gospel given to us by Christ and His apostles. As we go deeper in the book, I will reveal to you through scriptures where and how to find the law that governs grace and guide you if you truly want to achieve it. In the end, you will not only know what grace is but how to live according to the law that governs it, and you will learn how to walk by faith and not by sight. Our time here on earth is short, and it is getting even shorter by the day. The Bible warns us that we are living in the last days, and we are not supposed to take life for granted. We are to seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near (Isaiah 55:6). We may think we have all the time in the world, but sadly, that is not the case. The moment we are born, our clock starts ticking on when we will depart from this world. Now is the time to seek God and learn about Him and His ways. This book will help you on your journey.

    Prayer

Before we endeavor to read the Bible, it is always good to pray. This will prepare our hearts and open our minds to receive the word of God. Doing it this way will allow our spirits to unite with the Spirit of God, and when that happens, the word of God will be opened to us. Unless God opens His word to us, we will never truly understand it, and the Bible will become nothing more than just an ordinary book. I know this to be true because I have many friends who have read the Bible and did not get anything out of it. I did also for years for I had no one to explain the Gospel to me until I did some searching for myself and found a few things out. The more I found out, the more I wanted to know. When I received this revelation, the Bible became alive, and I cannot live without reading it. So let us pray.

Our Father, Lord of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things, I bless Your Name.

I pray that You would grant us our daily bread, the things necessary for today.

Grant us the desire and the will to forgive all those who have trespassed against us in any way, shape, or form.

Let us not harbor any hatred, bitterness, anger, or resentment toward anyone.

Forgive us our transgression and for straying away from Your truth and doing what is evil in Your sight.

Forgive us, Lord, for we know when we do that, we truly hurt You.

Grant us protection from our adversaries, protection for our family, our homes, our friends, finances, our going out and our coming in, and from the evil one.

Protect Your word that is in our hearts.

I pray for healing, from the tops of our heads to the soles of our feet and everywhere else in between,

healing for our families, our friends, our churches, our schools, our communities, our country, and our nation.

I pray for Your blessings, dear Lord.

Bless us with knowledge as You gave to King David, understanding and wisdom as You gave unto Solomon.

Grant us spiritual eyes that we may see Your glory, power, and might,

spiritual ears so that we can hear Your voice,

minds so we can perceive and understand Your will.

Grant us discernment so we can discern between good and evil.

    Help us to choose good.

Grant us revelation so we can know Your heart.

    We thank You, Father,

for providing for us our daily bread.

Thank You for knowledge, understanding, and wisdom,

for eyes to see, ears to hear, a mind that can perceive and understand Your will.

Thank You for discernment and revelation.

I thank You, Father, for everything,

the good, the bad, the seeing and unseeing, the rough and the smooth.

The good allows us to celebrate. The bad makes us reflect on our choices,

for I know that all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord.

So I thank You, Father, as I pray in Jesus’s name. Amen.

    Part 1

As we journey through life, we all at some point experience changes. Sometimes these changes can be good, and other times it can be bad. The modifications that we go through varies and, in most cases, depends on the challenges that comes our way; and as a result, we all have choices that we will need to make. Some of these life choices are easy to make and can be done on our own, but others require a specialist to help us manage the changes that will occur. Let me be the first to tell you that changes are not always easy, especially when they interrupt our lives and livelihood, and furthermore, changes does not happen overnight. Some changes take months or even years before we see results, and that can be disheartening and confusing. We live in an era where our expectations and reality are not synchronized; we want things to be done instantaneously, but reality states that changes happen over time. Thanks be to God who has made provision for us through His Son. If you think that physical changes are hard, then you probably know that spiritual changes can be even harder.

When it comes to spiritual changes, it is impossible to do it on our own. It takes someone who is spiritual to help us change spiritually. We have come to learn that what is spirit is spirit and what is flesh is flesh; they both operate on different systems. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (Galatians 5:17–18). We are physical beings; and as a result, we think and act on that level, so it is easier to modify our behavior to fit the situation we find ourselves in. When it comes to the spiritual aspect, it is not so easy to accomplish. Paul, when he wrote to the Galatians, informed them that the flesh and spirit are at odds with each other and that we are not expected to do what we want but allow the Word of God to guide our steps, our choices, and over time our lives will transform. Additionally, as indicated in Scriptures, The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). Though we are physical beings, we were created by a spiritual being; and for us to receive anything from this spiritual being, we ourselves must become spiritual. If we remain in the physical realm, mentally, we will never receive anything from the spiritual realm because it would be regarded as foolishness. People in general think that what is not seen is not real, and there is a scientific explanation for everything. And if it cannot be explained, then it is not real. But we who are of the faith say otherwise. We believe that the things that are seen are temporary, and things that cannot be seen with the naked eyes are eternal. We all have choices to make in life, and God gave us free will to do so. Though God gave us free will, that free will is not a do-what-you-want-without-consequences, it is a do-what-you-know-is-right and pleasing to God. That is what free will is; furthermore, free will comes with a price, for with our choices
