Chapter 1

I owe Lucifer John Haynes’ life. And I hate being indebted to anyone.

With my knowledge of the timeline and history I thought it’d be easy to kill the 14-year-old John in Ancient Egypt. However, he ran into the 14-year-old E’steem and she thwarted all my plans.

I don’t know what burns me up more, knowing I got beat by a teenager or the fact that she had a better understanding of the space-time continuum than someone who has been working with the chronostones for eons. I had my plan calculated to the last decimal and I’m still trying to figure out why it didn’t work. Was it because I sent John too far in the past? Or was it because E’steem had enough time to get involved? I just wish I could find the answer.

I’m standing in the chronohamber going over the latest algorithms on my tablet for my new plan to kill John when a flash of light gets in my eyes. When it clears Lucifer stands in front of me. The tall burly caramel colored man wearing a tailored red Italian suit, black shirt, red tie and Italian shoes greets me with a grim look. Looks like he’s calling in his debt sooner rather than later. Your plan to kill John failed Decadia. Lucifer snarls.
