About this ebook

This book lists and explains four things which very often prevent us from living a spiritual life, which translated means living a joyful, meaningful life—which is actually fun! The author uses the simple term “barrier” to refer to each of these impediments in your spiritual journey. Explained in detail are the ways in which these barriers hold you back, and how important it is to transcend them.

Spiritual barriers are like roadblocks. Some, you may be able to detour around. Others are like hurdles, and as you’re sprinting along, you’ll have to jump quite high to get over each of them without falling. Those are good metaphors because each of these barriers might present a different kind of spiritual challenge. It’s all about the inner work.
Perhaps you’ve already had a spiritual awakening or you may be total beginner and just curious about spirituality. You may be an experienced meditator or even a spiritual teacher. This book is for you because we are all pilgrims on what the author calls The Pathless Path.

    Introduction

This book lists and explains four things which very often prevent us from living a spiritual life, which translated means living a joyful, meaningful life—which is actually fun!

In this book I’ll use the simple term barrier to refer to each of these impediments in your spiritual journey. I’ll outline in detail how these barriers hold you back, and then I’ll show you how important it is to transcend them.

These barriers are like roadblocks. Some, you may be able to detour around. Others are like hurdles, and as you’re sprinting along, you’ll have to jump quite high to get over each of them without falling. And depending upon where you are in your journey, you might find yourself in front of a wall, a high castle wall. And you’re in the dark, and you have to feel along the ancient moss-covered stones for a window or a door, and then it’s going to be shut and locked, so you’ll have to climb the wall.

Those are good metaphors because each of these barriers might present a different kind of challenge for you, or even a combination of challenges. It’s all about the inner work.

Who is this book for? I wrote this book for you, whether you’ve already had a spiritual awakening or whether you are total beginner and just curious about spirituality. You may be an experienced meditator or even a spiritual teacher. This book is for you because we all can use some help along what I call The Pathless Path. I’ve even created a website by that name for all of us: www.pathlesspath.org

I like to think of us as pilgrims. Consider the literal definition:

    Pilgrim (from dictionary.com)

    1. a person who journeys, especially a long distance, to some sacred place as
