there she goes

like a little girl whom i knew not long ago

tempers flaring at any requests denied

heart opening to any gestures touched

there she goes

behaving exactly like a girl

pouting for wrong decisions made

smiling for silly mistakes done

there she goes

like the little girl i once knew

defying the world at her fancy

taking turns to scorn the life before her

things were less complicated then

emotions run freely and displayed ever so often

ever hopeful to find the little girl lost

who'd never needed directions
