Rather, mental toughness is more of a measurement of these skills. When someone is considered to be mentally tough, it is believed that they feature a variety of mental strengths that contribute to their overall mental toughness. People who are mentally tough learn to master their emotions through emotional intelligence, they have greater levels of confidence, and they are excellent at embracing change. They are not stopped by those with toxic beliefs, or those who try to stand in their path to greatness. It is easy for them to say no, and they even use it against their fears. They are not willing to let anything stop them from achieving what they have set out to achieve. Furthermore, mental toughness shows up in people who are capable of embracing their failures without dwelling on the mistakes they made that led them there. Instead, they see it as an opportunity to learn and use that information as a lesson to help them succeed in the future.
