    This isn’t my fault! Freddie Figg insisted, as he stared up at his mom.

    There were pens all over the floor, and an old, broken swivel chair was on its side on the floor. Other office supplies were scattered all over the floor outside the office door.

    On the floor next to the overturned chair, a rather hairy security guard with a large, red bump on his forehead was tied up with an entire ball of twine. He was rolling around and struggling and thrashing and muttering to himself as he tried to break the layers upon layers of twine and sit up.

    Freddie’s mom tapped the toes of one foot against the floor impatiently. So whose fault is it, hm? she asked, and she folded her arms across her chest. Was he like this when you got here? Did a ninja tie him up while you watched helplessly? What is it this time?

    Freddie wanted to roll his eyes, but he didn’t. Rolling his eyes at his mom would be a very bad idea.

    I tied him up, he replied. But I did it because I had to.

    His mom sighed and lifted her hands to rub her temples as if she had a headache. Why did you need to tie him up, Freddie? She shook her head at him. What are you even doing in here?
