Finding Fulfillment in Late Capitalist Society

About this ebook
These thirteen poems take the reader on a cathartic journey through one man's life as he at first buys into the big machine, then escapes it with his spirit latent but intact. These latter years of Capitalism are indeed an interesting time to be alive, and when this part of the world will eventually veer to the far right in governance, I hesitate to guess. All I know is what I have learned in life: Change is the constant, it is inevitable, and it is ultimately uncontrollable, even when it is unwanted.
Turning inward to the personal world, these poems challenge the assumption that true happiness cannot be found in such perilous times. We can have calmness within, and be at peace with the world outside. Sex is part of this happiness, but in itself it is only a brief escape, so the love one must develop is broad, universal, and philanthropic. Mature reading.
