Amy Gorman

Amy Gorman was born and raised on the West Coast; more to the point, she is a Californian girl through and through. She is the Creator’s daughter, and creative bubble of expression. She is a writer, a painter, a sculptor and a designer. Amy has collected these poems from her notebooks over the last eight years. In a way, Amy has been writing this book for eight years. She hopes that her readers will find something within the pages that speaks to them on a personal level. That these attempts at writing will be the words to speak for someone who cannot find their own words is a far reaching goal, but one that Amy would love to achieve. “Thank you for taking the time to share “My World” with me.” -Amy Gorman

    Read my book of secrets

    GOING HOME

    the light fading

    no shining sun here

    fallen behind the trees

    gazing upwards

    clouds passing overhead

    tree tops dancing

    the wind cries

    weeping to be so alone

    roll over in the dirt

    damp of fallen leaves

    pillowing my tears

    caressing the decay

    fingers trace hard stone

    rising up I breath in

    the smell of death

    old death and new

    softly gliding fingers

    brush her hair back

    those eyes of diamonds

    half-closed in sleep

    tear trails shimmer

she wept to be so alone

    one time she was warm

    time has cooled her blood

    she stretches out here

    guardian of sorrows

    flesh melded stone now

    amber stains this stone

    rusting the dagger

    I know why she cried

    the sorrow that stains

as I rise the moon rises

    moonlight spills over

    lighting her through me

    she was myself once

    weeping to be so alone

    turning to the waiting arms

    running to him at last

I weep at last to be at home

    INSANE
