Flight, The Beauty Queen and Others - Abigael Kebede
RAW RECOVERY
A journey towards the healthy self
Dedicated to brothers and sisters who suffer from an eating disorder and body Image Issues, Addiction, and self-sabotaging mystery...You are not alone!
1. The Beauty Queen
Slamming the door, walking away
For what am I running?
Who is chasing me? Can't say no one
From what am I escaping?
Throwing my belongings away
But Keeping the left over
Someone is hunting
I am being played somewhere
I see the sky chasing a Shadow
Why is the moon laughing?
I wish I could lose the ways
Runout of a purpose
I wish I could be Saved
From the bonds that are savaging
I want to be a frozen being
Because I have been fighting for no prize
Since I became the soldier of the queen
I am running away
Throwing out some more
Running the miles of the dawn
Until I run out of fate
Running while my feet are bleeding
Until I stopped running
Lost in the treadmill of the queen
She is a rare mystery
Swallowed in her perfection
Pushing me to the sideline
In this life that I thought was mine
2. Mark My Pain
Mark my pain for all my resistance
Of the walking lights
I have stayed in chaos for a while
Acting like a nomad, dreamless
Shooting weapons to my heart
Trying to make a cause
For all my suffering under my watch
Making an excuse for staying helpless
To my poor conscious
Who has been questioning why?
Tirelessly at the arrival of the dusk
It sleeps under my pillow at day
It wakes up
Ready to tackle me at night
When I lay on the bed for a rest
That comes late
Mark my pain
On the sky limitless
Because I don’t know how to live
Painless
3. Tenacious Me
I miss the sound of the mountain
Never calling me back
Never asking me twice
Longing
In the saga of throbbing under my bone
Torment
Seasoning stuffing’s of promises
That never reach my world
A lost heart of mine
Looking out through the window of my soul
Wondering the way back to the mountain
The vile voice of
