I’ve been writing ever since I was a child. I write both fiction and non-fiction in a variety of genres and subjects. I’ve written a few novels and numerous short stories and articles. I’ve had some of them published in magazines, newspapers, anthologies, e-newsletters and websites. I’ve also had some success in literary competitions. I also run The Best of Times short story competition twice a year. I have an MA in Professional Writing, a Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a Bachelor of Science (Computing) degree with distinction.

There’s nothing like a warm, soft, purring bundle of fur and whiskers. This is a collection of anecdotes from my 12 years of experience of keeping kittens and cats.

Someone at work found five feral kittens near her house, and I offered to take them in and find homes for them. All of them were wary of people except for the grey and white one, who was happy to be held and petted.

I lost sight of the ginger kitten for half an hour and wondered where he had got to, then found him hiding behind the stove, frightened. I shifted the stove and he came out.

The kittens soon learnt to trust me after discovering that I was willing to feed them. They would sit in a semi-circle taking turns to mew at me. I’d put down canned food for them and they would gulp at it eagerly and all start
