The rat is looking at me again. Ok, not looking, staring! Cats don’t look; they stare! and they do have facial expressions. and the look on her face was clear. Annoyance!

Annoyed that I, her silly human, was working on my computer, instead of paying total and complete attention to her, she let me know, in ways that a cat does, that I her lowly servant, was committing an error!

"What are you doing paying attention to that damn thing? You are supposed to be paying attention to me!"

As a typical cat, I am sure her thoughts were also, "Silly humanwhat do you think I keep you around here for anyway?"

Of course, cats would rule the world if it weren’t for the fact that they do not have opposable thumbs. a fact they resent deeply!

Perturbed with my lack of attention, she jumps up on my keyboard, not to stay but to flick her tail in my face, walk all over the keyboard, and totally mess up the article I am trying to write.   The computer beeps in protest about the keys being pressed, but she ignores it.

However, since I was not offering to make up for my rude behavior and pay all my attention to her, she jumped down, almost knocking my cup of coffee off the desk, in the process.

Sarah, or the Rat, as I now call her, sticks her nose up in the air in indignation, turns her backside to me as a way to show that she is ignoring me, and flips her tail rapidly from side to side. Then, after making sure I had noticed her indignation, she stalked off.

I am sure she is intent on finding something or someone else to harass—let me correct that—to find someone else who recognizes her majestic importance.

*** By the way, you know that cats prove that the world is not flat. Why?   Because if the world were flat, cats would have knocked everything off the edge of the world by now. ***

    And if she can’t
