CHAPTER 1

It was June 2022, and summer was starting in California. I couldn’t wait to get home to start working in my garden, planting and then harvesting flowers and veggies, and I really missed my Wednesday Ladies Lunches. I loved my flowers, gardens, and friends; however, I was still in Virginia visiting my cousin. I had been there two weeks, and I was ready to come home. I brought my suitcases downstairs, trying to be quiet because it was 5:00 a.m. Suddenly, I misjudged the stairs, missing the last two steps, then crashing into the wall with my head and hitting the floor with my shoulder.
