COUNTING SHEEP

Those two-half dressed pathetic creatures you can see stumbling about the place are in fact Mrs H and myself. The reason for the sloth-like movements is we have started lambing. Now this event doesn’t usually wear us down most years, but this year we are on the midnight, three, then six regime every night.

Consequently, we wander about during the day in a state that resembles sleepwalking. The reason being the blasted sheep have decided not to bother lambing on the day they should do. So, this is the reason for the pathetic creatures you can see stumbling about through the hedge. We are trying to stick to this nightly routine because of the abysmal lambing results we had last year. With only a small flock nowadays, every lamb is precious, and we don’t want any mishaps.
