Tiara Franken was horrified at the image in the mirror. You want me to wear this? Are you out of your ever-loving mind? I’m forty-three years old, Missy! she screeched to her best friend since high school.

What? It’s the latest fashion, and you want to draw attention to yourself. She stood and displayed herself wearing something similar but in a different color.

Yea, but your figure is good. Remember, I had three kids, she grumbled and looked back in the mirror at the miniskirt. I can’t do the skirt, but I’ll agree with the top thing. What did you call it? I swear, with age, everything starts to fall apart, she grumbled, and Missy rolled her eyes.

It’s a corset, Tiara. You’re not that old, and you know it. It was that ass who had you so isolated. What were you doing all the way in Germany anyway? Missy asked her, staring at her in the full-length mirror.

Tiara unzipped the skirt, releasing the access fat that it had hidden, going to her closet. You have no idea. In a lot of ways, I actually feel sorry for the bimbo that is living with Sam now. I swear, the first day I left the house and went grocery shopping by myself, I thought I was in dreamland. He called it being his ‘Love Slave,’ but I should have been smarter and seen it for what it was. She reached up and grabbed the black jeans she had bought yesterday.

Hey, how was an eighteen-year-old, your first love to know what was going on? Plus, you always dreamed of having a man like that; it was just too bad he was a liar, cheat, and a thief, Missy growled. You should have sued his ass for the money he stole from you.

No, Tiara said, coming out of the closet with her boots. I wanted him out of my life. The kids are all older, and if they want to see their father, they know where he lives. I don’t want anything to do with him. She sat on the bed, looking down at the floor. That man had twenty-five years of my life. I hate to say it, but it feels like a part of me is just gone, died when I found out what he did. Tiara looked up at her friend. I lived in a bubble; most of the time, it was wonderful.
