    Chapter 1: New Friends

Collin stared at the profile screen on his laptop. What exactly do you write to attract the right woman and not some psycho bimbo, or worse? How would the person know they weren’t some fat old wacko couple looking to do god knows what to them? He and his wife, Larissa, had decided to pursue their long-time fantasy; inviting a woman to join them in bed. They had talked and talked about it, but this was it. They were going to do it, or at least try.

The swinger’s site had the usual questions to answer and boxes to fill in. There was a couple’s option. He began to type; married, yes, male (there were multiple gender options), age 38, Caucasian, 6’1, 185 pounds, brown hair, straight (again, many options), woman 35, Caucasian, 5’5, 110 pounds, brown hair, bi-curious. There was a free-form section as well; he started typing. Happily married couple looking for fit woman, 25 to 40, to share good times, friendship, and erotic adventures. He; dark, fit, and trim. She; slim, long hair, great curves. First time for us. No strings. Take a chance. Healthy, WPTP. This could be fun.

Larissa looked at what he’d written and nodded her head in approval. Still, it was scary. I don't know, this is pretty intense. Are we sure we want to do this?

Collin smiled at her. We don't have to do anything. Let's just see what happens. She gave him a nervous smile…Collin hit the submit button. He figured it might be a while before they began to receive replies. Young, or youngish, single women were probably a hot commodity on a swinger’s site.

Over the next week they got a decent number of responses; ten in all. They read them together. Each one held the promise of a fantasy come true. Some were so badly written it was disconcerting. Some were well written, but still disconcerting. Finally, they opened one that seemed interesting. It read:

"I saw your recent profile on the site and found it very intriguing. My name is Phoebe. I moved to town last month. So far, I’ve found it hard to meet people. I’m 36 years old and fit, which seems to put me in the ballpark for the type of person you’re looking to hook up with. My interests are varied. I like to read and listen to folk and classical music. I like to explore relationships with both men and women. Can we meet somewhere public and casual so we can get to know each other? Then, perhaps, we can get to know each other even better. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can explore the possibilities. My number is 555-2374."

Collin and Larissa looked at each other. This was the kind of response they’d been looking for. Reality was staring them in the face. Larissa spoke first. Well, what do you think? Should we call? Is this the one? I don't know. This is so weird, but I’m kind of excited.

I don't know, either, he replied with a hint of excitement. If we do this, who's going to call? I can’t believe we didn’t already discuss this. I'm not sure what to say.

Larissa knew exactly what he was feeling. This was new territory for both of them. They loved each other very much, but bringing another woman into their bed was a bit terrifying. She thought for a moment and then realized it was probably her job to make the call. The woman might feel more comfortable talking to another woman. Collin agreed with a sigh of relief.

That evening they made the call. Larissa had butterflies in her stomach. The line rang once, then again, then a third time. Larissa heard the phone picked up. Hello? came the pleasant voice of a woman on the other end of the line.

Hi, my name is Larissa. Is this Phoebe?

Yes, it is, came the wary response.

You don't know me, but my husband and I received your response to our post. There was silence on the other end of the line. Larissa wanted to crawl under the table.

Really? What post was that? replied Phoebe.

Larissa gulped and continued. You know, couple, looking for a woman? My husband and I liked your reply.

Oh, that post! cried Phoebe as she realized who was calling her. I was so hoping to hear from you. For the next several minutes the two women talked, awkwardly at first, but then more comfortably. Larissa was pleased the woman seemed to be intelligent, well-spoken, and easy to talk to. Phoebe had just moved to town from Virginia for a job at a local engineering company. Although the conversation never got around to sex, they agreed to meet Friday night at a local watering hole. It was a neutral, public place, a little upscale, and they could easily leave if things didn’t go well.

On Friday night Larissa put on one of her sexiest dresses. It was slinky and cut low at the neck, exposing a bit of her ample cleavage. She also picked out Collin's clothes. She was proud of how handsome and sexy her husband was. They spoke little on the drive into town; their inner monologues were in overdrive.

When they got to the bar, they scanned the crowd for Phoebe. She said she was 5’7’’, had long black hair, and would be wearing a red dress…not someone who would be hard to spot. They moved through the noisy weekend crowd toward the long bar at the back of the room. Larissa spotted her first…and she was stunning. Her silky black hair hung down well past her shoulders. She was beautiful, with pearly white skin and a killer body. Her breasts were large, almost as large as Larissa’s. With a slim waist and full hips, she had a perfect hourglass figure. Collin gasped a bit when he saw her. Larissa could see the look on his face and gave him a pinch on the butt. Not so fast, lover boy, she whispered.

Larissa approached Phoebe and made the introductions. They ordered drinks and headed to a table in a quiet corner. At first, it was just some nervous small talk.

So, Phoebe…can you tell us a little about yourself? asked Larissa, biting her lip when she realized this sounded like a job interview.

Phoebe just smiled. It was a really great smile. Sure. Like I said, I’m single, working at a local company, and new in town. I’ve moved around a lot over the years. This is one of the smaller cities I’ve lived in, so it might take some getting used to.

Collin nervously cleared his throat. Phoebe. Tell me, what is it you do for work?

I’m a civil engineer. I guess I like building things.

Oh, that’s interesting, Larissa remarked, perking up and flashing a smile.

And what do the two of you do for a living? Phoebe replied, looking from one to the other.

Collin nodded. I’m a business consultant based here in town, but the work requires a fair amount of travel. Larissa is my business manager, book-keeper, travel agent, and all-around right-hand person.

    Do you like travelling?

Well, yes, but not all the time, said Collin with a little smile.

    What about children?

Larissa shook her head. Nope, no kids. You?

Me? replied Phoebe, as if she was somehow surprised at the question. No. No kids.

Larissa could tell this was probably not the most comfortable subject, so she moved on. I’ve got to say, Phoebe, that’s one amazing dress.

That brought a big smile to her lips. "I’m glad you like it.
