Going home for a little afternoon delight, Jonah? Crystal yells to me from across the office. She winks and gives me that cute little smile.

Yeah, you know it, I reply, not wanting to give her any indication that there is trouble in my marriage. Maybe if things are as bad as I think they are, I’ll be taking Crystal home someday. But for now, I want to know the truth. I want to try and salvage what I have left with my wife. I’ve been putting long hours in at work and it’s paid off. I finally have the corner office—the one that says you’ve made it. But at what price? Jenna has been the love of my life. I wouldn’t be lying if I said that I put in all those hours and all that hard work for her. However, I think she thought that I’d pay more attention to her while I climbed the corporate ladder. In that, I know I failed.

Driving home, I look for any reason to turn the car around and go back to work. I pass Shuman’s Diner, the best hamburgers in the Midwest, but resist the urge to pull in and forget about my troubles with a burger and beer. Every time I have the urge to quit this little spy game I’m playing, I glance down at the package sitting on the front seat. Pictures. Lots of them. Jenna in various stages of undress. Some of them in fancy lingerie I didn’t even know she owned. And some guy in a mask helping her take them off. This stuff happens to the other guys, not me.

I don’t know what makes me angrier, the thought of some anonymous guy taking pictures of my wife or the thought of some guy fucking her. What the photographer’s motives are, I have no idea. The other guy? Well, Jenna never failed to satisfy in bed.

I really don’t know what I expect to find when I get home. Jenna’s nursing gig has her home at all sorts of odd hours. Could she be having a tryst without me knowing?
