The Scripture speaking in Jeremiah 8: 19 -22 - talks about the people of God seeking help outside of God. Our total and complete dependence ought to be in God and Him alone.  To put your trust in the arm of flesh is an offence to God; He is asking here Is not the LORD in Zion? Is not her king in her?

The question is, why are you desperately searching for help outside of God? Is your King the healer not residing in you? Is God Almighty not inside you? Why are you looking everywhere else but to Him for your healing and deliverance?"

One Just like Jesus

As the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ here on earth draw to a close, He began to introduce the disciples to the one that was coming to continue His ministry on earth and to birth the Church, in the person of the Holy Spirit. He calls Him another Comforter.

Jesus said, I will not leave you without comfort [or as orphans, open to molestations] but I will come to you

What this immediately means for us is that Jesus Himself is here now with us exactly as He was in the days that He walked the earth but even better; Jesus has finished the work of Salvation and is now highly exalted above all things in Heaven and in earth. This Comforter God is with us now on the grounds of a better Covenant, which is established by the Blood of the everlasting Covenant.

If you have ever wondered and wished you were living in the days that Jesus worked the earth, know that you are living in a better time. This is because we are now living in the victory and Glory of Jesus which is manifest through the Person of the Holy Spirit.

We see this Comforter as the Spirit of God in the beginning of all things in Genesis chapter one functioning in His office as the very power of creation.

The Spirit of God goes before all the acts of God; He is the presence of God that establishes all the divine plan and purpose of God in Heaven and in earth, and He is still operating in this role today. He is the third person of the God head. He is exactly like God, and He is God. He is unchanging like God and He is the same yesterday today and forever like Jesus. Malachi 3: 6, Hebrews 13: 8

He is given to us by the Father as a gift. Jesus said, And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever John 14:16 This Comforter lives in our born again human spirit to fulfill the Divine plan of God in our lives and one of the ultimate plan and purpose of God for us is that; 

We prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers

3 John 1: 2

For this reason, God sent Jesus and anointed Him with the Holy Ghost [the Comforter] and equipped Him with the supernatural ability of God and He went about doing good [Paraphrase is mine] Healing all that were oppressed of the devil because God was in active partnership with Him.

God’s ultimate plan for you and me and all of mankind is prosperity and Health and He has sent His Word and His Spirit to establish that plan in us, for us and through us to bless humanity. Be richly blessed as you read!

Meet the Holy Spirit

The healer with You

In the beginning

IN GENESIS CHAPTER one before God Almighty began the process of creation, the Scripture says;

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said

Genesis 1: 2 - 3

We see this Spirit of God all through the Scripture in this role, the one that pre­cedes all the acts of God.

He brings the plan of God to pass. When God talks about His arm and out stretched arm, and when the Scripture talks about mighty things done by the finger of God, that is the Person of the Holy Spirit. He is also often referred to as the Angel of God.

We see Him in that Scripture above at the very beginning of creation; the earth was without form and void and there was darkness everywhere, and the Holy Spirit came on the scene to bring order, and to cultivate the earth for the work of creation. He hovered upon the face of the deep and then – God said

This shows us that without the Holy Spirit, the word of God remains inactive. The Logos, the written Word becomes active Rhema as the Holy Spirit moves upon the Word of God.

He activates the power of God within the Word to make it active and to make it productive. All through Scripture, we see that God does everything by the active partnership of His Spirit and by His Word.

HE IS THAT MIGHTY POWER of God that led Israel out of captivity

We also see the Holy Spirit as God lead His people out of the bond­age of Pharaoh in Egypt by a mighty hand, with signs and wonders, by the very power of God who is the Holy Spirit. God drove back the red sea and made His people to walk through the sea bed on dry ground and by that same power He drove back the body of water to sallow up Pharaoh and his host. In that journey out of Egypt, The Holy Spirit is the presence of God with His people as a pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night.

In another encounter, an amazing display of power and wonder, we see this divine presence of God remove from before the children of Israel as He lead them out and the host of pharaoh came against them in hot pur­suit. This awesome presence of God removed from before Israel and came behind them, standing between Israel and the host of Egypt, bringing darkness over the army of Pharaoh, destroying their chariot wheels to bring the enemy to complete destruction.

We also see Him as He introduced Himself to Joshua as the Captain of the Host of the Lord as they prepared to take the promised land. This was not any of the arch Angels or they would have announced themselves as servants of God. More important to note is that all through the Scriptures, Angels do not receive worship, but in this case Joshua fell to His face and worshiped and he was not stopped, so this was the manifested presence of God Almighty Himself in the person of the Holy Spirit.

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adver­saries?

14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, what saith my lord unto his servant? 15 And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so. 

Joshua 5: 14 – 15 [Emphasis is mine]

This is how He introduced Himself to Joshua as He came to take over the battle and lead Israel into their land of promise.  In the same way, the Holy Spirit within us lifts up a standard against the enemy that rise up against us to overcome us. This is a military term that we will talk about further down in another chapter. All the acts of God throughout the Old Testament are done by God through the Person of the Holy Spirit.

Before now the Prophets of old and the Kings of Israel only had the Spirit of God come upon them as they were anointed for service and this presence of God would leave because of sin like in the case of Sam­son, and as seen with King Saul. He would come and go on the Prophets like with Elisha who could not hear God for Israel until the minstrels were brought to usher in the presence of God through praise; The Holy Spirit was that hand of God that came upon Elisha the servant of God and ena­bled him to prophecy.

He said; "But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him". 2 Kings 3:15
