About this ebook

In this first series, the foundation is set to practice God's presence. God envisions this perfect relationship. In the tree of life is the solution and how this tree gives life to all who eat it, through the sacrifice of Jesus who is the new Adam who came with grace and truth, the source of life. Cain gives us a response on how difficult it is to live outside God's presence. That faith is necessary to please God so that we can escape the floods of life.

Jesus came to seek and find the lost, and he found Zacchaeus on a tree. We are the sons and daughters of God, who is our true father and the Christ is enough. God is looking for perfect hearts, not perfect people, but the god of this world blinds us from our encounters with God's presence.

God invites us to seek the Kingdom of God, but we must watch out for our meaningless words and trust in God, who supplies our daily bread. We will be tested, but be strong and courageous. Our biggest mistake is when we have two masters. Yet, our eyes lead us to the Kingdom, and mature Christians will be tested to find God's will.

Our communion is 24/7, and we have a duty to pray, through grace and truth, which we find when we seek his face (presence). The laws are on our hearts, that come through the New Covenant. That Christ came to end the law and fulfill it with love.

Fix your eyes on Jesus and wait for his help, and he will never disappoint. Moses fixed his eyes on this invisible God and brought the people of God out of Egypt. Know the Christ and his presence will strengthen you, for he has an advance plan. Unity with Jesus equals peace, and persistence is necessary to find God's presence.

Finally, train yourself to seek his face anywhere, the face of Jesus destroys anxiety, temptation, yet there is a battle of the mind, and we run the race of faith. You will have fewer problems with sin as you linger in his presence. Nothing will separate you from God's love.

    Chapter I

    Relationship With God

OUR HEAVENLY FATHER is not distant; rather he is nearby (Acts 17:27), and he desires to know his children intimately. He invites his children to come close to him and he says, Draw close to me and I will draw close to you (James 4:8). This perfecter of our faith, Jesus who died for our sins and he perfects our faith to find this invisible God (Hebrews 12:2).

    Perfect Relationship

In the book of Genesis, The Garden of Eden was a paradise for man. Adam experienced happiness in God’s presence and God provided everything he needed. God pictured the perfect relationship, where the sons and daughters would look to their heavenly Father and he covered his children with the shadow of his love and protection. God is not a control freak; rather his nature is love and similar to an earthly Father, he knows what is good for his children. Through our obedience to seek the Lord, we live a peaceful life in the midst of our trials and tribulations. This peace comes to those who are obedient to his Word and to those who cling to his Son.

    Eden and the Two Trees

Genesis 2:9 He made all kinds of beautiful trees grow there and produce good fruit. In the middle of the garden stood the tree that gives life and the tree that gives knowledge of what is good and what is bad.

In the garden, Adam could eat the fruit, from all the trees, except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because on that day they will surely die. Now, the serpent was jealous of man, and so he deceived Eve to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She was deceived to think she would be like God.

The consequence of their sin was death and one day they would die. After this incident, it is interesting to note, God said, they should not be allowed to eat the fruit from the tree that gives life and live forever. So God put an angel with a flaming sword to keep them from coming near the tree that gives life (Genesis 3:22-24).

    The Tree that Gives Life

From the beginning, it was Adam’s destiny to fix his eyes and eat from the tree that gives life. This tree represents Christ on the Cross. St Bonaventure from the 12th century taught that the tree of life is the Christ.

The tree of life, like Christ, gives life to all who eat from it. Possibly, had Adam obeyed God they would have lived forever in God’s presence and would never die? Now with sin in the picture, they no longer had the privilege to eat from the tree of life and live forever. This is why God blocked the man from coming near to the tree of life. They lost the privilege to live forever because of their disobedience to sin.

    Jesus the Sacrificial Lamb

Revelation 2:7 If you have ears, then, listen to what the Spirit says to the churches! To those who win the victory I will give the right to eat the fruit of the tree of life that grows in the Garden of God.

Jesus died as the sacrificial lamb for our sake, to take away the sin of Adam and bring us back to God. Today, living in the presence of the Holy Spirit is vital, so that God’s children eat from the tree of life that grows in the garden of God. This victory starts with repentance away from sin and loving Jesus.

God said, But this is what I have against you: you do not love me now as you first did. (Revelations 2:4). Further, he said, Turn from your sins and do what you did at first (Revelations 2:5).

By turning our eyes away from sin and turning them towards the Lord, this act of love will grow into a waterfall of love for God. The power of God’s love will overshadow the power of sin. He must increase and I must decrease (John 3:30). As Jesus becomes bigger, our sins become smaller and they fade away into his presence.

The Forbidden Tree (Tree of the knowledge of good and evil)

We could say the forbidden tree, is a representation of the world. After Adam ate from this tree, their eyes opened up to the world. They realized that they were naked and embarrassed about their nakedness. So, they sowed figs leaves and covered themselves.

In fact, when they heard the Lord walking in the garden, they hid among the trees because they were afraid. They sensed fear for the first time and shame and knew they had done something wrong.

The serpent’s intention was to draw man to the emotion of 'Fear’ and the shame of ‘Nakedness’. These fear and naked awkwardness are the primary reason for man’s disconnect from God. They lead man to insecurities, that come from their rejection, pain, the fear of the future, money, health Etc.

Not forgetting the sexual sin from pornography, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism Etc. The devil is very clever to separate people from God, through their fear and uncontrollable sexual desires, to sin that leads them to death. The outcome of spiritual death leads to all kinds of emotional upheavals such as fear, anxiety, depression, emotional pain, and hopelessness.

The Savior should be by their side, to take away their worthless emotions, that lead them to peace, joy and they are friends with God. Sin leads people to their death however Jesus leads them to
