Quiet Storms - Melisha Ann
FOREWORD
When I hear the word ‘Perseverance’, ‘Persistence’ or ‘Tenacity’, my mind goes straight to one name, Melisha Ann; the mother of four children, including myself.
Melisha has always put others first, before she would even begin to think about herself. We grew up under very harsh circumstances. Things were financially, emotionally, and physically difficult for us.
My mother always knew how to lighten up the mood in any situation and would make the bad things happening in our lives disappear by taking us on imaginative journeys with the stories she told us. She is indeed a master storyteller.
No matter how sad or scared we were, my mother could cure us instantly with her vibrant imagination and expert choice of words. As we grew older, we started to see the real world, and discovered so much more.
Through the years, our entire lives, our mother has been our guardian Angel, who always kept us safe and together.
She is a fighter, a survivor, a mother and a true friend. I am beyond lucky and proud to be able to call her ‘Mother’ and I impatiently await her amazing and inspirational story because I believe it would inspire and BLESS so many others all around the world.

CHAPTER 1
Teen
The Earth is Beautiful
The Earth is beautiful, Beautiful is calm.
We have the sun, moon,
The stars that stare at the trees and the flowers.
Why do we worry if the world is beautiful?
When beautiful is calm.
Why do we have deadlines, rules and hate?
The world is beautiful, isn't it?
And Beautiful is calm.
If the world is so beautiful and so calm,
Why do we get nervous?
I don't see how the world can be beautiful
If it isn't calm.
I think the world is just amazing.
My Sunshine
After all these years I had to give you up.
I thank you for being there
When no one else would come.
I thank you for letting me love you.
I know that you loved me too.
I thank you for just being there.
I thank you for lying close to me
When I was all alone.
I thank you for waiting on me
When I was at school.
I thank you for missing me
When I was away.
That showed me that you cared.
I thank you for all
