About this ebook

When Cheryl, a quirky and fun video game artist, answers a summons from her boss she expects a pink slip. The intern and the exploding toilet, the stapler incident with fellow artist, Eric. Most of the pranks, her fault.

Mostly.

But instead of firing her, both Cheryl and Eric receive a new assignment: creating the hero concept art for the first ever romance video game. A chance she never dreamed of—or dared hope for.

At least, if she and Eric find a way to work together... leaving the jokes, and pranks, behind.

A sweet story of heroes and heroines, and the artists who dream them up. "Sketching Heroes," the next short story in the popular Romance Video Game series.

    About the Author

    Sketching Heroes

One look at Mark, and his slumped shoulders, baggy eyes, shirt slightly wrinkled around the collar, and she knew this was it. He was going to fire her.

Cheryl slipped into Mark's office, carefully closing the door behind her, though it was more to buy herself time to calm down. She hadn't done anything wrong—not this week anyway.

You, uh, asked to see me, sir?

Mark, their CEO and Creative Director, didn't ask to see anyone. Not unless it was important and she'd never, ever seen him without a tie. None of which added up to good news for her.

He barely glanced up, too busy rubbing his forehead. Yeah, have a seat.

    The dreaded seat offer. Shit.

Cheryl crossed the room in two strides, hoping to appear collected and in control, professional even. Of course, her Lord of the Rings T-shirt and pink, sparkly flip-flops didn't quite fit with that image.

But then, he wasn't quite up to par either and she could barely see over the stacks of paperwork towering on his desk, which was saying something for a girl as tall as her.

If this is about that intern in Q.A. last week, I wasn't the one who told him about the exploding toilet in the upstairs bathroom.

Mark ceased his rubbing. Blinked once. Ah, no. That's not why I called you here.

Oh. Well, shit. Then why did he call her in? Or did he want to see her a nervous wreck?

She was ready to ask when the door knocked again, and before Mark said anything, Eric ducked in. Though nearly as tall as Cheryl, Eric had an air about him making him seem bigger than he appeared.

Or it could be the fact that he seemed to walk into everything and didn't know just how big he was. He banged his foot into her chair, smacked the stapler on Mark's desk which headed towards the paper towers
