About this ebook

Like most video game designers, Lauren works on the project her boss tells her to. Not happy with it? Too bad; you buck up and get the job done, anyway.

An impossible task for Lauren as she eyes the stack romance novels on her desk, most with some half-naked dude on the cover. She wants nothing to do with them or her next project: the first ever romance video game.

But running away? Finding a different project? Not an option.

Fortunately for her, fellow designer, Paul, keeps a more open mind about such silly ideas about romance novels and... love.

The second short story in the heart-warming Romance Video Game series. "Changing Perspective," promises to delight and uplift and quite possibly, change your perspective of what love—and romance novels—truly means.

"If you like sports novels, you’ll like this—even if you don’t like romance. If you like romance, you’ll like this—even if you don’t like sports novels. Wonderful book, chockfull of unexpected surprises." —Kristine Kathryn Rusch, USA Today Bestselling Author, on Home Run

    Changing Perspective

    You can't make me."

Lauren lifted her nose at those, those things, which were not, in any way shape or form, to be labeled as 'books.' Porn for women. That was what they were.

Any 'book' with a half-naked highlander, a gorgeous (and definitely not innocent) woman clasped in his embrace, though to be honest, she could well be pushing the guy off her, at which point Lauren might consider—potentially consider—it being a real book.

The worst part about this whole giant, nightmare of a mess, was the mountain—yes, mountain—of books stacked behind said highlander book.

Lauren shifted, her faded jeans catching on the cushioned, conference room chairs. Ugh. Even the book titles made her want to throw up.

It was a slap in the face against the women's rights movement. Poor Elizabeth Cady Stanton must be rolling in her grave or something.

And to think, women bought these, these things.

Lauren's boss, Ryan, the lead designer on the project—which Lauren had already nicknamed DOOMSDAY, rubbed his forehead. I was hoping you'd be more open to the idea.

    Why? Because I'm a woman?

    Something to that effect.

Karen, the newest producer and cheerleader of project DOOMSDAY, and Ryan's new snuggle-bunny girlfriend, had her usual patient, understanding smile.

It made Lauren want to hurl.

Karen was also the one holding out the highlander book to Lauren. Well, I'm guessing this one isn't quite up your alley.

Then, without any hesitation or disinfectant, Karen plunged her hand into the mountain of books and half-naked bodies, and pulled out another. This one had a chick all layered in black and was that...was that a vampire?

Oh my God! Who writes this shit?

Karen's patient smile slipped and Lauren marked a check mark underneath her scoreboard. Ha. At this rate she'll be off this project and back onto their shooter game within hours.

There was no way in hell she was gonna design a romance video game. Let them try and make her.

Ryan took the book from Karen and tossed it at Lauren, which landed vampire-side up. Do you know how many copies this ‘shit’ sold?

She had to hold firm—firm but still respectful as this was her boss. Her boss, who although he'd settled down a bit and got a tad nicer after he started dating Karen, still never pulled his punches.

And right now, the last thing she needed was to get slugged in the
