PREFACE
A Deceased Estate comes with emotional baggage. It was the home of a loved one, and unless the Executor of the Estate is not a relative, having to clear out and sell the property is usually carried out by a close relative. Going into the property and looking at the artefacts around the home can cause distress. Many people find this a difficult task, and would prefer the job left to others.
Unfortunately, if the property has been left in a Will to be divided between two or more beneficiaries, to abide by local rules of the country where the property is situated, that property has to be sold within a certain period of time. Unless there is a dispute between beneficiaries and court cases become pending, the sooner the property is placed on the market and sold, the quicker the money can be divided up between the relative parties.
Because of the emotional distress preparing a Deceased Estate can cause, it is wise for the job to be shared between all the beneficiaries instead of leaving everything to the Executor.
