About this ebook

Pursuit of Truth and Love is a book of poetry inspired by true life events of one woman’s journey to find her place and reason in life in a world consumed by attaining material wealth and success. From time immemorial at any life stage between youth and old age, negativity does unwittingly creep in, amidst the feverish search for everlasting happiness.

Pain and heartache are often the catalysts that above the debris of negativity, can inspire fearless courage which leads to the discovery of the wondrous beauty of infinite Love and the Oneness of Spirit that lies within each of us and connects all living beings.

This collection of poems aims to instil courage, faith and strength at various times in our lives so that we may seek beyond our current situation with determination that the change we ask and search for lies only within each of our own hearts and minds. Thus we can create our own fate and destiny of our choice.

    Courage for the Strong

    Trapped by hurtful lies,

Questioning the pain in your Life?

    Truth is blind,

When you fail to make the climb.

    Destiny is your creation,

Strung together by your thought relation.

    Blaming is easy,

Perseverance is not for the lazy!

    Happiness eludes,

    Ignorance deludes,

    Open your eyes,

To unveil your own deceitful lies!

    Courage is for the strong,

No right can be made wrong.

    By Divinity’s Grace,

    Despair vanishes without a trace!

    2

    Divinity’s Infusion

    A journey unfolds,

    My story thus far,

    In all honesty told,

Seeking my home on a road untarred.

    A valley of Sadness,

A hill of Happiness in sight,

Joyously sings a heart in gladness,

A multi-hued bumpy trip, all right!

    Divine Love within,

    Timeless – often masked,

    Only true yearning does bring,

An adventure to be experienced – not asked!

    A loving spirit peacefully calm,

Amidst the chaos and angered confusion,

    A compassionate healing balm,

Is the Oneness of the Divine’s infusion.

    3

    Heartache

    Tears roll down my face,

    Anger, frustration, pain, fear

Where in the world is my place?

    Is this an emotional race?

Sadness like an old blanket envelopes,

    Alone among family and friends.

    Gradually, strength within develops,

Is this the modern, new trend?

    Woman, do not despair,

    Rise,

God’s light appears faint and rare.

Do I dare to still care?

    My limbs strengthen,

    No more sadness,

    My heart quickens,

    Hope beckons.

    4

    My Child

Ten perfect fingers, ten perfect toes,

    A mother’s love grows.

    Your perfect innocence sows,

Dreams and laughter, sadness and woes.

    Precious child of thine,

Beautiful, sparkling eyes, innocent and bright.

Illuminate your life’s path with Divine light!

    Was there a sign?

Never saw it coming, sadness and fear,

    Darken our days,

    To blight God’s divine rays,

Vicious lies and foolish competition are near!

Down on my knees, I do fervently pray,

As fear and doubt clutch my heart,

That God’s love and mercy do not part,

From my child’s heart each day.

    5

    First Love

    You appeared not to care,

    Tall, handsome and strong.

    Determined to prove all wrong,

Feisty and self-confident, I did dare!

    A competition of Love,

    To end in comic confusion,

    This strange love diffusion,

    Sent from Heaven above!

    Love succumbs to fearful doubts,

    Breeding distrust.

In Divinity we lay our trust,

True love does emerge from behind despairing clouds!

    How little did we know,

    First time, first love,

    Seeking confirmation from above,

Only in adversity does Love strengthen and begin to grow.

    6

    Life’s Lesson

    They are all the same.

    Not true, I said.

Their actions and words scar and maim.

    Not true, I said.

There is only good in all.

    Foolish girl.

    What gall!

    Foolish girl.

    You trust blindly,

    Enough!

Love given to selfish people foolishly.

    Enough!

    Tough life lessons.

Am I really who they say I am?

    Heartbreaking decisions.

Am I really who they say I am?

    Never fear,

    Stronger are you.

    Arise, God is near.

    Stronger are you.
