About this ebook

This book is about love, hurt, and teenage angst back in the Swinging Sixties. Its themes are a troubled family and the innocence of teenage years.

Mm, the Swinging Sixties. We thought we had it all: freedom of speech, freedom of movement, sex, the pill, alcohol, fashion, womens lib, and, of course, the Beatles and Doctor Who. We also held the fear of the cold war, star wars, nuclear annihilation, and apartheid.

The public face matters to some extent, but what goes on privately, behind closed doors, is what shapes and develops the individual. The emotional and hormonal experience spans all generations. The difference is in how we challenge, exhibit, and deal with the hustle and bustle of our own experiences.

Author

Lyn Bedford

Lyn Bedford was born in the once beautiful market town of Newbury, Berkshire, England and was introduced to contemporary poetry by the poet Elizabeth Jennings. After Lyn married her childhood sweetheart, Adrian, they moved to the North of England and spent thirty happy years there. Lyn worked in Royal Mail for many years before taking retirement to spend the little time left with Adrian. Afterwards, Lyn walked the Machu Picchu Trail for charity and – after trying other types of employment – decided to share her ramblings with readers. Lyn is currently writing her life story as seen through the eyes of her dear dogs. Lyn still lives in Grassmoor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, the village she has loved since her childhood.
