I have been interested in poetry and writing since the age of 11. Working in customer service for over ten years has not really offered me the chance to express my personality. This book is my opportunity to really express who I am.

Clear Vision from a Dirty Window - Tawanis Upshaw

    September 3, 2005:

Sometimes I just want to be some place different from the place I am today—trapped, trapped in a void in time an empty space loneliness fills my inner being. The days are short and the nights are shorter. My insides are out; my creative growth has been stunted from useless, mindless daily suffocating activities. Most people are mindless zombies, walking dead, completely unaware of what’s real or what’s important. My life won’t be wasted on a quest for fame, fortune, a man, a dog or its clone. The only thing I want is to be loved and the only place left for me to go is home. My home is not a neighborhood, city, state, country or church. My home cannot be found on this planet. My home is somewhere beyond the grasp of the average human mind or academic genius. I don’t think outside the box, I think outside of the octagon. If I knew a man who believed that with love we could all fly then I would travel the universe with him until the day I die. Maybe death is just a myth, instead
