    Introduction

Prayer is one vital aspect of the Christian journey that has been voraciously explored by both bible scholars and inspired devotes just to establish its relevance to mankind. Much has been said about: how to pray, when, where and how to get results. To some, the Lord’s Prayer as recorded in Matt 6:9-13—After this manner therefore pray ye: Our father which is in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven, Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debt, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever, Amen is the only accepted prayer to offer, others believe in praying at certain times of the day if you must receive answers, a definite place to be before prayer can be offered is yet another pressing issue but in all of these, my spirit tells me man is only seeking a way to pray and get unhindered result.

Surprisingly, as indispensable as prayer is, very few people truly understand and make it part of daily commitment. Praying only when in need makes prayer more of a tool than relationship which God originally intended for His creation; He loves to fellowship with man, talk, listen and solve problems. This in fact is one distinct attribute that makes us feel alive in Him, there is a conviction we are not just into some dead ritualistic engagement, focusing on false attraction. Having a good prayer life is a product of knowledge; knowing God personally and having a hunger for spiritual growth.

Good to know is the fact that our God is not selfish; He doesn’t just call man to worship Him and go away empty handed. There is provision for asking and the promise to do even more than you have asked.

Getting to the rudiment of prayer requires humility, trust and faith in God that He is able to meet you right where there is need. You pray, He answers. Arrogant people do not ask for help so if you are still far from prayer, search yourself and be sure you are not arrogant toward God—your father. In asking, there is a picture of one—on—top being painted and this is the position of God who owns and rules the whole wide world. If you are God’s child and it’s clear He owns all, why don’t you get into a closer prayer link with Him?
