About this ebook

God speaks to us through His written word, the Scriptures. Christians communicate with God through prayer. Prayer is an essential part of the Christian life. It's one of the ways to have a close relationship with God. God welcomes and answers those who call out to Him. Our personal relationship with God is significant as Christians. The center of our relationship with God is prayer, which is also a fundamental way to promote the development of our relationship with God and keep it.

Prayer is something that we learn. It is something that we develop a desire to do. It comes from allowing ourselves to come before God and the work of the Spirit within us. It institutes a clear communication with God that forms into the relationship intended by God for every one of us. Suppose we pray for our heart's desires. God will hear us. If we are in need of something and we ask God, He will answer us. Sometimes, in a way that we may not understand.

Almost every person that I have shared the gospel with has at one time talked about praying or practices prayer. Sometimes, we communicate with God in words and sometimes in songs. Christians pray together in meetings. Families pray before eating. Students pray for success in their exams. Market sellers pray for customers. Citizens of various countries pray for their leaders. Soldiers pray for protection. Prayer is done in almost every aspect of life. There is nothing more important to the Christian than a prayer life. Developing a prayer life can only happen if one sets aside time for the Lord each day. The Scripture is also helpful in teaching us how to pray. This book on "understanding prayer" will answer the following questions:

1 - What is prayer?
2 - How should we pray?
3 - When should we pray?
4 - How often should we pray?
5 - For what should we pray?
6 - Who should we pray for?
7 - Why should we pray?

    Preface

In my Christian life, I have realized one thing, that is, many people do not know how to pray. We see people dressed up going to church. We see people busy serving God in the ministry. We know of people having the zeal to do more for God, but many do not know how to pray the biblical way.

I have been an evangelist since 2012. So many people I have witnessed and discipled have once asked me to teach them how to pray.

As I was going through many biblical topics, the Spirit of God prompted my heart with this topic to help people understand prayer and begin a prayer life.
