Introduction

It is my intention to help the reader understand the purpose and will of God in the areas of receiving answers from God and drawing closer to Him through praying through. Every believer is destined to be a winner in the war room of prayer. In this book I will share the truths that God has shown me, both in the Bible by His Spirit and over thirty four years of ministry.

There is a fresh call that is coming from the Throne of Grace. This call is for all those who are God’s children through the New Birth as explained by Jesus in John 3. This call is not only for Christians to draw closer to their Lord and Savior, but also, in the process, to earnestly seek His face like never before for the purpose of hearing and receiving what He has for His children and for what He has for them to do for Him.

We live in a complex world that changes daily. At times we feel it changes every minute. There are so many needs around us that it can, at times, be overwhelming. But we continue to trust in the Lord. There may even be needs in your own life or your family.

These needs might range from divine guidance, divine intervention, to marriage or work related issues, to financial needs.

Whatever the need might be, we know that God has the answer so we pray and ask Him for His answer or intervention in these matters.

Now, some of our prayers are answered quickly, while others seem to take a long time or seemingly go unanswered altogether. In matters of prayer, we must make sure that our prayer requests are in line with His will. His word is His will.

Therefore, we must become students of His word and study to show ourselves approved so that we will have correct understanding of His word (2 Timothy 2:15). In other words, beyond devotional reading, studying the Bible needs to be a major part of our life as a Christian.

But what do we do about those prayers we have prayed that we know are God’s will, but yet don't seem to be answered? Do we just give up?

Well, the answer, of course, is no - you never give up. God has given us His word and we are taught in His word that there will be times in our lives when we need to do more than casually pray (what is called a devotional type of prayer) but rather, we need to pray as if our life depended on it. This is earnest, desperate, persistent prayer that is determined to receive the answer from the Lord.

We must also understand that we have an enemy who will oppose us in prayer and life. But because of what Christ has accomplished for us on the cross we can experience victory in the war room every time.

This type of prayer, earnest, desperate, persistent prayer, is also called by many as Praying Through. Praying Through to what? - someone might ask. Praying until you have the strong assurance that the answer is on its way. Praying until you experience the victory in your own spirit and are compelled to move from prayer to praise and worship. This is where we get the term Praying Through - praying through to victory.

I like this term Praying Through. Although some may think it is an old term, it does speak of what the desired result will be and the method in which it will come. Praying through will not only allow you to have the answer and intervention of the Lord, but it will also strengthen your faith, bring a deeper joy and happiness, and will draw you closer to the Lord. In other words, it will change your life in every area.

In this book we will look at this topic in detail. We will look at what the Scriptures say and hear some personal testimonies and then close with some solid action steps that you can put into practice in your own life.

My prayer for you is that this book will cause you to personally draw closer to the Lord and experience first hand, on a continuous basis, the victory and joy that comes with praying through to victory.
