Psalms from the Heart - Michael J. Miller

    BLIND, BUT NOW I SEE

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

    36556.png

Each day, you witness the sun come up,

To give our world some light,

    You open your eyes,

    To no surprise,

You can navigate using your sight.

You operate by the things you see,

    As you go about day-to-day,

    It’s not incidental,

    Most things become mental,

When your senses come into play.

There are other things that need to be noticed,

    Using other than your mind,

    It requires ascension,

    To another dimension,

To keep you from being blind.

Our senses can guide us in the natural world,

It’s a blessing to enjoy their function,

Yet they’re not at the helm,

    In the spiritual realm,

Where connection is made at God’s junction.

He reveals some things within your spirit,

    Far different from physical sight,

    A new type of vision,

    To guide your decisions,

And take life to greater heights.

You must read His Word to develop this,

It has amazing power and force,

    It’s been planted in you,

    And granted so true,

    As God’s greatest intangible source.

It even causes our physical senses,

To become very sharp and keen,

    If you care to accept,

    It can make you adept,

At seeing what hasn’t been seen.

Please know this is available to you,

Don’t just always use your mind,

    You may have to adjust,

It’s a thing you can trust,

Don’t just settle for being blind.

It’s defined by words like ‘evidence’ and ‘substance’,

    It considers your obedience,

    It may take some nerve,

But that’s the God we serve,

    It requires spiritual confidence.

This isn’t the product of supernatural healing,

    That restores your human eyes,

    It’s an internal gift,

    With a spiritual lift,

You can see well before the sunrise.

It supports such scriptures as ‘ask and receive’,

    A character trait you’ll adore,

    You will ‘see’ your increase,

    If your faith you’ll release,

Do it now and be blind no more.

    CAPTURE WHAT’S UNSEEN

    36868.png

2 Corinthians 4:18 – So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

    36872.png

In order to enjoy the world around us,

We have to eliminate things that bound us,

We become preoccupied with current circumstances,

Thinking life is a series of present-day chances.

In maturity, we learn about this near-term nature,

We learn that what we see is a dangerous wager,

We can’t continue to live by our senses,

The entirety of life will resign to past tenses.

We hold on to the past, which should become a myth,

When it represents a battle we’re still consumed
