    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

This book wouldn’t be possible without the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He gave me the blueprint and I just obeyed as I wrote the manuscript.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

    What Is Wisdom?

Every day we must make decisions. We decide what to eat. For instance, are you going to eat a bowl of cereal, a bagel, or pancakes, etc. for breakfast? We decide what to wear. Are you going to wear short sleeves, a tank top, or a sweater? We decide if we want to have good hygiene or not. Do we brush our teeth every day, every other day, or three times a day, etc? Do we skip taking a shower or bath today? Do we wear deodorant or not? We must decide spiritual things. We decide if we are going to go to church, read the bible, or pray? What religion will we be a part of? We decide who we date or marry. The point is that every day we make numerous amounts of choices.

Therefore wisdom is needed. Wisdom will guide us in the decisions we make. According to Merriam Webster, wisdom can be defined as the ability to discern inner qualities and relationships: INSIGHT, good sense: JUDGMENT.¹ Without wisdom, we will get connected to the wrong people and live a destructive lifestyle. Without wisdom, we will break laws and be a menace to society. Without wisdom, we can’t judge the difference between good and evil. In other words, without wisdom, we will lack common sense.

God loves to give us wisdom because it’s a gift (James 1:5). He loves us so much that He wants us to make the right choices and with His wisdom; we are able to make the best decisions. Many people make decisions and don’t consider the consequences. However, when we walk in wisdom, we will consider the pros and the cons before we even decide. God wants His children to be blessed, prosperous, and healthy. If we lack wisdom, then it’s a huge possibility that we won’t be blessed, prosperous, or healthy because we allowed the devil to come in with bad decision making such as having spent all our money when we should’ve been saving it, getting in toxic relationships, having unprotected sex outside of marriage and getting STDs, drinking alcohol to the point where liver diseases develops, and the list continues.

I have made a lot of mistakes in my life. I have been in the wrong relationships which caused me harm and resulted in me losing everything. I have tried drugs which could’ve killed me if I got addicted. I lived a fast life which resulted in guns being pulled on me, community service, stress, depression, and so on. I have acted out in anger which resulted in me doing probation for two years. I can write several books, which I had done already on my stupidity. I didn’t start to even consider my decision making until I went through a wilderness season. In this season, I encountered God in a new way.

I was faced with jail time and probation. There was no way out of it. I had to serve and do time. All my life, I got out of doing things because I could manipulate my way out of something. But this time, I wasn’t in control. In these dark moments, is when I discovered how real the Lord truly is. I had to grow up; I broke down and cried out to God. I had truly repented. My eyes began to open. I could see my stupidity. I saw how angry and bitter I’d become. I realized that my lifestyle was destructive. God gave me wisdom when I asked for His help. I found that I had the strength to say NO to bad choices. I found that I had the strength to walk away from SIN. I found that I could thoroughly map out all the consequences to a decision before acting out on it rashly.

God began to strip me of the junk in my heart. He got rid of the pride, lust, selfishness, hatred, anger, perversion, pettiness, fear, and the list goes on. He began to isolate me by disconnecting me from the wrong people. He began to speak to me and convict me, so I knew the difference from right and wrong. My life was no longer mines. The Lord had His hands upon me. Over time, my mind began to change because I was thinking differently.
