About this ebook

The books title is captivating; all will want to know his glory and the content of his riches. The book is written in five parts in a lucid and clear language. The content is well researched; all the information is Bible-based.
Most impressive is part five: Christians should believe the report of the Lord embedded in the Bible His written word, as the author asserted. The authors style is also impressive as he brought his personal testimony right at the end, only to buttress his experience in participating in various mode of worship by the main denominations: Anglican, Methodist, Roman Catholic, and Charismatic.
In a subtle way, he corrected critics who are biased or prejudiced about other mode of worship. To quote:
All denominations in Christianity, worship God in a slightly different way but rather each does it in accordance with Gods word. In no way can these denominations operate in the same order of worship because the Bible makes a clear distinction on the different methods of worship which I believe is the order of Heaven.
He was able to bring out the diversified talents in which Christians made music a thing of joy in Gods houseeach unique to its own task.

"The book is informative, inspirational and stimulating... It is highly recommended for theologians, students as well as lay people. It can be appealing to Christians and Non-Christians as all will be exposed to the wonderful revelation of The Riches of the Glory of God."

"As I read this book, my trust, confidence and belief in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross increased considerably. Salvation plan is so explicit in this book that I believe that whosoever reads this book his faith and trust in the finished work of Christ will be increased."

"Riches of His Glory a rich text of Gods assurance of love in showing how He rescued man from darkness into his marvellous light "
Olivet C. R. Williams

The author clearly explained in this masterpiece work of the art of writing the eternal plan of God in rescuing mankind from the state of eternal condemnation to eternal victory in Christ. His message is so clear and direct that whosoever reads it would be in the position to make a decisive change in the way of life in order to attain glory both now and in heaven with God. "Man disobeyed God Almighty who created him and hence, he suffered agony and misery. However, God in his mercy sent Jesus to redeem man and grant him eternal life if he accepts what God has done. The story of mercy and restoration is worth reading. Magnus Williams has not only made new the timeless story of sin but has also reminded readers that salvation though free is available if they fully accept God in their lives. The story of salvation is never old."

RELIGIOUS LIFE The author is a born-again Christian who made a personal commitment and rededication to Christ in his early teenage years while in High School. Africa is a rich place where the gospel is both zealously preached and lived by Christians. This was the case for Magnus as he was blessed to be born into a Christian family. He was raised by biblical doctrines and principles and he managed with God’s help to live every single one of them out in his daily walk with God. He attended the All Saints Church situated in Kissy Road, Freetown S/L. He joined the choir of All Saints Parish in 1993 while he was finishing primary school and served faithfully in that choir as an Alto singer for a period of twelve years before his departure to Australia. While in high school (Albert Academy), Magnus associated with the School’s Scripture Union Group and made a personal commitment to follow and live for Jesus. Going to university (FBC), he joined the Christian Campus Fellowship – Bible Study Union (BSU) where he had a good time with both God and his fellow believers and was part of the zealous team of students that revolutionised the campus with the redeeming gospel message of Salvation to their non-Christian colleagues. He became passionate with God’s call not only to live as a redeemed person but to communicate it to others as Christ instructed in the Great Commission (Matt.28:16). Coming to Australia, he continued his spiritual walk with God as Christ is always everywhere on this earth and we must endeavour to live to the expectation no matter the geographical location. Magnus continued fellowshipping in the Anglican Communion first at St. Andrew’s Lakemba and later proceeded to the St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney from 2005 till this day as a partner and ardent Christian worshipper. This is where he and his family worship on Sundays. As the church is one foundation and we are all united in the same call as Christ’s body on earth, he affiliates with other ministries as well. Magnus alongside the Cathedral of St. Andrew’s, affiliates with Anointed Truth and Life Ministries Inc at Mt. Druitt Sydney, headed by Pastor Matthew Dabo. He affiliates with The Gospel Faith Mission International headed by Pastor Theophilus Ajadi at Bankstown. Lastly, he affiliates with Hope School Evangelistic Ministries in Sydney where Pastor Gerald James serves as the overseer. PROFESSIONAL LIFE Magnus is a professionally trained Librarian. His Librarian career started after his completion of high school in 2000 in Sierra Leone. He voluntarily served at the Sierra Leone Library Board for a year (2000-2001) as Assistant Accounts Officer where he fell in love with library and its books and desired a professional career in Librarianship. In University (FBC), he again voluntarily served as Librarian for the Bible Study Union (BSU) a Christian fellowship on campus for a period of one year (2003-2004). Migrated to Australia in 2005, Magnus has been working in various libraries such as: doing work placement at Bankstown TAFE Library in 2005, gained employment at University of New South Wales Library (UNSW) via Zenith Information and Management Services in 2010-2011 for almost two years as Library Officer. During this same period he also worked as Library Assistant at the Blacktown & Mount Druitt Libraries being employed by the Blacktown City Council. In 2013 he gained employment at the Waverley Library via SCO Recruitment as Library Officer and he worked for a year till 2014. He now works with Hope School as Subject Researcher. MARITAL LIFE Magnus got married to Olivet Williams in December of 2011 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Their marriage is blessed with two lovely girls (Magnushire & Mavette). It is with profound gratitude I acknowledge God Almighty for giving me insight into spiritual revelation. It is all the work and making of God that inspired me into researching this topic of The Riches of His Glory and communicating my findings in the form of a book. This is my first book inspired by God to publish to the Christian and wider audience who desire to know what realities are there for people to grasp in having a foretaste or glimpse of the revealed glory of God. God gave me the wisdom to locate resources and compare them with my God’s given tacit knowledge inspired by the Holy Spirit to communicate to my audience.

Profound thanks and appreciation to the publishing industry that took up the responsibility to publish and market my first Christian literature. Many thanks go to the editors Blanche Olivette Olufemi Macauley (Mrs), Dr. Nathaniel Stephen Macauley and Olivet Christabel Ruth Williams (Mrs) for their tiring editorial work in making my dream a reality. One who writes cannot edit. It takes a careful examination of the work to observe and correct all the grammar and other literary technicalities in making the work a beautiful and readable piece. The Chief Editor Blanche Macauley has done a great job of putting all the pieces together in the rightful place to have a professional work in the set genre. Olivet Williams has done the preliminary editorial process to ascertain what fits where in making the Chief Editor’s job a bit easier. Dr Nathaniel Macauley has directed further editorial advice on how to make the work presentable to the intended audience professionally. My editorial team as a mix of close-bond affiliation has endeavoured to undertake within the shortest possible time a scope of work far unbelievable for the time constraint, and for this, I say immense thanks for a well-coordinated work.

I will be failing in my duty if I delete the acknowledgements of the many Christian ministries and their leaders who encouraged me by way of advice and their embedded excerpts from the sermons I was privileged to witness. Thanks to Gospel Faith Mission International branch in Australia where Pastor Theophilus Ajadi serves as Minister in charge, and Pastor Olawunmi Ajadi as Assistant. Thanks to Pastor Gerald James of Hope School Parramatta. A big thank you goes to Pastor Matthew Dabo of Anointed Life and Truth Ministries Mount Druitt. Lastly, a million thanks to Philip Jensen—Dean of St. Andrew’s Cathedral Town Hall in Sydney. This work is a kingdom-united tool which anointed leaders played influential role in giving rise to my dream of communicating my knowledge in the faith. Again thanks to everyone even the unmentioned for their prayers and support in making this work a success.

    Foreword

The Riches of His Glory is a biblically analytical approach of the Bible about who really God is, His love for creating everything for man and placing man in the Garden of Eden to enjoy, but when man lost everything by disobedience and went out of glory, He rescued man by way of sending Jesus to die on the cross. Christ’s intervention prepares humanity to reconcile back to God and continue to enjoy fullness of life in time and in eternity. Riches of His Glory reveals how Christians can access the blessings of God and how they are to behave as the redeemed people of God to access all of life’s joys.

The main theme of this book is that from defeat by the devil to victory in Christ which brings about the joy of enjoying all the riches of God’s glory for mankind. The creation’s enmity of bruising his heel and crushing his head is fully fulfilled when Christ defeated the devil on the cross to ransom man. The devil can no longer hurt those in Christ but rather, he remains defeated as God’s children live in total victory in their daily living.

The riches of His Glory is a revolutionary tool that brings thorough insight to believers in the Christian-community and those wishing to surrender to Christ about what riches are embedded in the love of God from creation to being adopted again into God’s family in living in constant fellowship with God both here and in eternity. It is an eye-opener for humanity to value the Everlasting Love God has for us even from the beginning of time till now no matter whatever mankind has ever done to displease Him. This is the hidden truth of God being exposed in a simplistic way to enhance clarity of God’s love for mankind. This work makes the aspects of the Bible being discussed simple to grasp as it gives a clear approach to the different issues highlighted and analysed. It is a good manual for spiritual upliftment and knowledge building. This work brings immense knowledge to its readers once its concepts are fully understood without losing the actual meaning. Its brevity and simplistic style makes it a treasure in the Christian art of literature. It is a companion not to be neglected. Its layout of facts is designed in a flowing order from one concept leading to the other which makes it a good grasp and easy-read because suspense is not left hanging loosely. Even a non-Christian or baby Christian can handle this work and appreciate its useful contents without having difficulty to unravel its meaning. Its facts-based analysis is easy-to-follow and clear in the mind of the reader. It is a treasure in the hand of the reader and a manual every Christian should have.

This book is a divine inspiration received by Magnus on his way from work. Magnus received the call to write this as his first work of literature on the night of 14th March 2014 which was exactly four days prior to losing his job. He felt the strong urge of going into writing and publishing Christian literature and it became a reality when he lost his job on the 18th March 2014 as a Library Officer at Waverley Library Bondi Junction, Sydney. It came to him as a shock but God has already provided a way even before Magnus lost his job to keep himself busy in order to help others with his skills in the art of writing. Indeed someone who is truly blessed cannot be cursed by anyone (Num.22:12). Those who wanted to harm him were put to shame and confusion (Ps.71:24)

While pondering about the many spiritual blessings life offers Christians, he was carried away by the love of God for the human world where man dwells. He thought God in His graciousness had given mankind from creation all the benefits of life to be happy and having lost it; He restored man again to his rightful inheritance by way of the cross. This God did in demonstrating His profound love for His beloved creature. Capturing this reality, Magnus reflected on the glory of God which He willingly gave man the opportunity to have a glimpse. This world has seen the revealed glory of God from creation to the coming of the Messiah in order to fulfill the Rescue Mission of mankind. We have seen His glory; the glory of the one and only Son of God, full of grace and truth (Jn.1:14). God reveals His glory to His people in seeing all that He had made and freely given to enjoy. God’s glory is not only seen in Heaven in its full manifestation but also what spiritual realities are there in this life concerning mankind. God’s glory for mankind is revealed from creation to the transformation of life in time to life in eternity for those who believe in Him. Hence, Christians are to ponder on what spiritual blessings are there to enjoy in the faith and so live in the light of this reality of life in God’s view.

    Introduction

God created the world in a perfect way and wanted His glory to be shown in all things and in everyone in all circumstances. However, the fact remains that believers in Christ do not achieve their full potential just like those outside the covenant relationship with God. The Bible contains the richness of God’s glory to be enjoyed by whosoever is sensitive to its principles. The absolute truth is that people are ignorant of the way God had designed their future in the predestined promise they had with Him from the beginning of time. God works with people who are connected to Him in tapping from His throne of grace what they were created to become in this life. Suffice it to say that many people are blinded in discovering their own truly designed destiny; they never know what they were created for. How be it any knowledge of what the Father has in store for all those who are upright in their ways and can remind God of what their inheritance should be from Him?. When lack the knowledge of what is supposed to be acquired, how can that individual claim that which rightfully belongs to him? Complacency and ignorance are the two issues downplaying people’s intelligence, causing them to neglect their own true glory in life that flows from the Father. It is worth noting that the days of ignorance, the Lord has overlooked, now is the time of vast knowledge and alertness, and we must make use of it while time still tarries because it will soon run out.

In the beginning God made everything beautiful in time for man to enjoy. Man possessed the start of the riches of God’s glory but it was short lived. Man enjoyed fellowship with God and dominance for a short time and then reduced to zero, where struggle and suffering set in. In essence, man lost glory because of deceit, and man sought for ways of redemption but there was none. God ignored man in his foolishness and man was helpless without any close intimacy with God. Man was cursed and left to wander aimlessly until eventual death. As God’s anger endures for a moment, He created a way to rescue man out of this disastrous situation. It was then man realised that he was not completely abandoned and God who is rich in mercy was still having him in mind and Christ’s rescue mission began. There was hope at last.

God’s rescue plan in the person of Jesus Christ was when the richness of God’s glory for man’s enjoyment was beginning to be restored again but could only be fully restored until man embraces it by taking due advantage of it to reap the due benefit. Due to man’s outright denial of glory, God was so vexed that the only way to lift man’s punishment was to send His only Son to ransom man thereby fulfilling everything according to the Father’s demand. Christ was born just like an ordinary man but was God in human form to redeem man. He lived, worked, suffered and died on a shameful cross for the sins of the world. He gloriously resurrected on the third day and now seated with the Father in glory waiting His second coming to establish man fully. Now is demonstrated God’s richest glory which can only be received by only those who are willing. It is unbelievable that many people are still ignoring this sacrificial love for nothing worth comparably beneficial.

Full restoration of that which was stolen can only be realised when man confesses the redemptive mission of Christ and walk in His ways thereby acquiring for the second time the lost glory of God’s blessings. Until this happens, so many people are struggling and fighting aimlessly. The battle against the lost glory is so strong that only those with spiritual sensitivity can be able to adequately conquer. Total victory comes when we embrace our frailty and seek solution from Christ. He then opens His blessed doors to all believers to a whole new phase of life enviable by others around us. This is glory restored and we must grasp it before there is no more time.

This book The riches of His glory is a very informative masterpiece revealing how God from time began to shape the world for both His glory and man’s enjoyment. It stems from God being mindful of the earth which was vast and vacant, could not stand such waste but acted productively. He did this by letting the earth shares part of what Heaven is like—just a glimpse of His glory. He moved in His Spirit and part of His glory was descended upon earth and all its riches came into full force. In the end, life emerged as the ultimate product to enjoy the riches lavished in the form of God’s Heavenly glory on earth. Due to man’s limited knowledge, such glory graciously given from above was mismanaged and the true essence of it was neglected. It took the ultimate Sacrifice in the person of Jesus Christ to restore it again so that man can fully enjoy all that is supposed to be enjoyed. The time has come when everything has been recovered and yet, people are blinded to this day of freedom the enjoyment of what is truly ours from the beginning. It is so sad to see so many people languishing in ignorance and foolishness not knowing the way forward. The solution is right in front of them to grasp yet they are not reaching out. In five parts, this book informs and educates both Christians and non-Christians how is it we can enjoy the riches of God’s glory while on earth until we make Heaven one day.

    Part One

    GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY

THE LORD DOES WHATEVER PLEASES HIM, IN THE Heavens and on earth, in the seas and all their depths (Ps.135:6)

    GOD’S SOVEREIGN CHOICE

    Unilateral creative Will

You are worthy, our Lord God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things and by your will they were created and have their being (Rev.4:11).

God is the sole author of creation. The Triune God unites in creation to display the extent of the power of the Godhead. All creatures in Heaven and earth ascribe praise and honour to God because He is the Sustainable Creator of everything. The fact that God creates all things absolutely reveals the level to which God can exercise His power out of nothing to make something appear under His sole control in a good fate. By the will of God, creation claims existence because it passes through the creative hands of God. Creation does not bother to devise a mechanism by which it will appear from nowhere into time. God alone knows that creation needs His creative power and decision to speak it forth and allow it to possess the empty space after the transformation of His glorious creative methodology into something no one understands will occur. It is a wonder that needs gratitude to an all-knowing and all-decisive God.

God’s will come into reality when He decides to manifest His power through creation. It is His free-will to transform the universe into what it is today. This freewill does not require the foreknowledge or input of anyone to make it looks like what it is. It is extremely and entirely God’s plan and purpose. It is what He intends to achieve with humanity in the way He chooses to play. It is His self-oriented Will that is both divine and spiritual and its basis is ‘love’. How can someone alone choose to do what he thinks is good and acceptable for the good of everyone? It is only by a propelling force acting from within that person that makes him do what the next person does not deserve or is not aware of. When that person who is to receive and enjoy this act notices it, it is entirely not His business to crave for the gratitude because he does not know what is going on until he receives such an unexpected treasure. So it is with God and humanity. Man has no knowledge of what God intends doing until everything appears from nowhere and man is restored to glory in the garden. God alone is the Architect of this beautiful creation’s design.

The universe comes into reality by virtue of a totally free act of God and it remains this way till eternity. No one can dispute this fact because no one has knowledge about it. God intends showing His greatness by bringing forth creation the way He does it. This is a once and for all time demonstration of God’s divine excellence that He does whatever He pleases in a way that is beyond human comprehension and wisdom. Creation itself allows God to delight in His work by seeing it in the most perfect and attractive way needing no further refurbishment to add to its beauty.

    Desire-oriented God

Our God is in heaven, He does whatever pleases Him (Ps.115:3).

God sits enthroned in Heaven as the ruler of all. He is in absolute authority over all and Sitting in Heaven means being in absolute power, dominion and authority over the affairs of the world. Nothing happens by means of chance or accident. All things work perfectly according to the Will of the divine Planner. It is whatever God desires that comes to pass. God is not in consultation with people to know their opinions. He does not need the contributions of others because when He created everything in the universe inclusive of man; He speaks from His Godhead and they come forth at His sole command. Therefore, as the owner of everything, He had the designated right to look over the world’s affairs in a way that deems Him fit. No wonder things happen to people that they do not have any answers to because they are unaware of the unexpected outcome of the situations. God knows it all and He orders things even before they spring into reality. He instructs even from where He dwells.

God has control over the day-to-day affairs of the universe. Man might be expecting things to go the way he sees right in order to correspond with the situation he faces. However, God overrides the situation and counteracts man’s intended foreseeable outcome because He is a just God. This is why some of the issues man faces in this present day and age, are issues that only the Divine has the perfect answer to because He has knowledge of everything. Man seems lost when it comes to the affairs God controls. Only the Divine can understand what makes things go the way they are and to even foretell the final outcome.

Shockingly though, by virtue of man possessing the earth; it gives man some kind of right to have knowledge about what is happening. It is true to say without the fellowship of God coming close to man and revealing hidden secrets to him, man by himself knows absolutely nothing because man is mere dust carrying God’s breath and to this same dust man will one day return. Howbeit flesh and blood with the internal makeup of dust contests with a Holy and Divine God that is immortal? It is abominable to ever imagine that man by his wisdom knows all about the issues of life and downplay the outright essence of why God is God. God is above all and when He is given the due reverence in total surrender, some of His hidden secrets become manifest through the things He unfolds to man.

"All the peoples of the earth

    are regarded as nothing.

He does as He pleases with

    the powers of heaven?" (Dan.4:35).

When it comes to the decision of God, man plays no part. The earth is the footstool of God Almighty. He rests His feet on earth where man dwells. Due to the fact man comes from dust and returns to dust when he expires, man by nature is nothing had it not been for the breath of God he carries. Inasmuch as man comes out of the divine plan of God, yet man is nothing compared to how big and powerful our God is and will always be. Man is a created being but our God is uncreated and this clearly shows the distinctive nature of the two—the Divine immortality and the physical mortality. It seems realistic that when God stands to perform His work as He chooses to, man has no business in it because man cannot in any way withstand the authority of the Supernatural Being.

God does whatsoever He pleases which sends a message to this confused mortality that His decisions are solely His; devoid of all human interpretations and input. Humans by our wisdom cannot fathom the powers by which God operates in our affairs because He is both Divine and Eternal. His supreme nature as God works in all situations the way He intends them to happen. Man has no legal right to question or attempt to deduce what God is making out of His handy-work. He is in charge and can see to it that things go the way they should by His divine ability.

Heavenly powers operate human affairs that are too complex for mere mortals to interpret and gain full understanding. Man is a novice when it comes to understanding the ways God uses His Heavenly powers to manipulate human affairs just the way He desires. Attempting to know and unravel what God does in any point in time without first admitting human frailty to the ways God does His work is tantamount to losing absolutely everything God is about to work for man’s own good.

The above claim of God’s sovereignty proves that mankind cannot resist God’s plan and work in the way He wants things to flow. Man is a tool in the Almighty hand of God to be used in any way regarded fit by Him. Man has no power to question His operation in a way that will place God as having no control over humanity at all. Man has to align himself with the will of God so that whatever God chooses to do in any man’s life will be done easily without hesitance and delay. Whatever man attempts doing to thwart the divine purpose of God will never be realised as man is man and God is ultimately God. God’s plan surely prevails in the end no matter the obstacles.

The idea that man has the time to set aside in planning is just because God allows man to enjoy the gift of life. Nothing happens by chance. It has all been predestined to occur in such a time as God wills. Emphasising this, Zibolski (2014)¹ in his sermon states emphatically that God’s sovereignty is Him choosing us because His ways are higher than ours and we cannot entertain the thought that God is unjust. It is out of His generosity and justice, He chooses man to enjoy life in abundance. Man’s own standard of being good enough to enjoy life and make Heaven is against God’s divine purpose. Man is of the opinion that humanity is to be blessed and escaped all life’s trials and storms. It is a privilege that we are made right and fit for Heaven through God’s own choice and standards and whatever we are faced with is in accordance with His Will for our lives. God has our best interests and we need to trust Him always.

The pre-destined people should be aware that God
