About this ebook

Are you facing giants, fortified cities, and opposition in fulfilling your purpose? Forces that keep resisting your progress, barriers that seem to limit you from going beyond the norm, principalities that intimidate and cause delays? That is exactly what the Israelites faced in their pursuit to possess their inheritance-the land of their promise. They faced the Anakites, fortified cities, deceptive spirits, intimidating rulers, and mighty military alliances, but all these were part of the possession process.

Today, we are all called to possess and have dominion in our calling, accomplish God's assignments here on earth and fulfil our purpose. God has prepared his church through tests and trials, built our faith and equipped us for our destiny. However, the enemy vehemently fights and dissuades us from possessing our inheritance. He would want to steal, destroy and kill every potential in us that would fulfil our purpose here on earth. This calls for warfare from every believer who desires to have dominion in their calling. They started their possession by scouting the land, engaged in warfare, dispossessed the enemy from their promised land, possessed the land and finally had rest. This book relates Israel's process of possessing their inheritance to today's lives. It takes us through how to scout for our inheritance, fight our battles as believers in Christ, possess our inheritance and finally occupy and have rest in our service to God.

    PREFACE

What does the Promised Land in the book of Joshua depict in today’s world? The purpose for which we were born, God’s plan for bringing us here on earth; our divine inheritance here on earth; our destiny. It is the masters business, unknown to man but known to God. The land the Israelites had to pursue yet they had not seen what it looked like. The land which Abraham had to move to, even without knowing what awaited him. The reason why Joseph was sold to Egypt, why David was anointed by Samuel, and why Esther found herself in the palace.

God has given us various gifts, he has adorned these gifts with his grace, these gifts enable us carry out our assignments effectively, and when we accomplish our assignments step by step, we progressively occupy our destiny. It is the completion of one assignment after another that culminates to the fulfilment of your destiny. Rarely will God give you a full display of your destiny, but he will unfold it to you through one assignment after another and your faithfulness counts on how much you occupy.  Occupying comes through possession and possession by definition is taking into control of property without regard to ownership. It is a matter of warfare. Then how do you possess your inheritance? First and foremost you must comprehend your inheritance, secondly fight for it, thirdly possess it and finally have dominion.

    CHAPTER 1

    INTRODUCTION

After a thorough preparation and equipping of the Israelites in the wilderness, they were spiritually and physically mature to face warfare, dispossess the inhabitants of Canaan and possess their promise. That was the process to occupy their inheritance.  However,
