DEDICATION
To the saints who cannot understand why,
Why it has taken too long,
Why their prayers are not yet answered,
Why they seem to be lagging behind,
Whose hearts cry to God day and night,
Pleading to God to come to their rescue,
To inform you there is an appointed time for everything,
And a season for every activity under the heavens,
And when the appointed time comes,
God will swiftly act on your behalf,
He will make everything beautiful.
Preface
Ever taken a long flight of stairs and you long to reach the landing? All you want is to pause, inhale, exhale, rest and catch up some new energy for the next flight of stairs. Imagine an automobile that runs thousands of kilometers without resting or service, eventually it knocks off and stalls. Every living thing and most manmade machines always need a break for rest and servicing. There comes a time to replace the worn out parts and service parts of the machines or automobiles. Likewise, our bodies, souls and spirits always require a halt and a rest; a time to be still, waiting patiently for renewal and service by the master designer, our God.

Introduction
There are three major phases of a believer in the journey of faith. These phases recur often and also overlap over time, however you can always distinctively discern them as they take place in your live depending on God’s plan for you.
Phase one: A time to march (setting out). This is a phase of actual progress in service: a lot of activity in ministry, growth in one’s spiritual life, sowing and harvesting, building and tearing down, a lot of activities pursuing life goals.
Phase two: A time to camp (wait). Every living being and manmade machine requires a pause. A time to rest, be still and hear God, time for refreshing and renewal. A pause to wait for God’s timing and a time to stop and let God intervene on our behalf.
Phase 3: A time of war (fight to possess our inheritance). A season to destroy the works of the enemy, a time to advance and possess our inheritance and promises by faith, and a time to breakthrough and carry the plunder. A time to deliver the captives and bring deliverance and much more.
The Israelites experienced these three phases in their journey to the Promised Land. "At the Lords command they encamped, and at the Lords command they set out. They obeyed the Lords order, in accordance with his command through Moses" (Numbers 9:23). The camping season was as significant to God as the setting out and so it is even in our day. God is calling us to be still and patiently wait for him. In this book we will focus on the phase of ‘camping’ which always puts us in an atmosphere of waiting.
Chapter 1
What is waiting?
Waiting for God is the act of staying where you are whether physically or action wise, a deliberate refusal to proceed until prompted by God. Staying still with the expectation that:
God will intervene
God will fulfill his promises
God will give further direction
It is an intentional decision to stay when the whole world is rushing about, doing everything and solving everything through their own efforts. The will to resist temptation to proceed and step out ahead of God. Waiting can be fruitful and worthwhile and can also be painful and agonizing depending on one’s perception. One can consider waiting a waste of time, a season of non-productivity and to another it can be a season of renewed strength, a time to hear God, a time to refocus, and a time of fruitfulness in ones’ gifts. Waiting is not just halting and staying put, but it is also staying calm with hope and expectation that God is acting soon. Hence
