The Destiny of a Man - Daniel Deladem

    Foreword

Thus, says the Lord, "the destiny of every man is in the hands of God. Whoever seeks to know what his destiny is should seek Me and acknowledge Me, for I am the Author and the Finisher of every man’s faith.

"Indeed, I am the Author and Finisher of every man’s destiny, and that is why My Word says every man’s walls are continually before Me; every man’s destiny is continually before Me.

"No destiny is beyond My comprehension or understanding, and for that reason everyone must ask Me to explain to them whatever they need to know about their destiny.

"My role in the life of every person remains the same as the Author and Finisher of every man’s destiny, and this will never change.

"I am willing, I am prepared, and I desire to reveal a person’s destiny to anyone who asks Me or seeks Me.

"Whoever seeks to know shall know so that each person’s soul will not live life as it pleases him or her.

"My desire is that every man and woman, each soul, would desire to know what his or her destiny is, what I have written in My book concerning their lives, according to the revelation of My servant David.

"This is simple, and it is the plain truth, the simple truth that all men are not just born or created for the sake of being created or being born.

Thus, the very reason of each person’s existence here on earth is to fulfill the purposes, the will of God, the God-given destiny. It is practical for everyone to know God and the will of God for the created.

    Introduction

    What will today bring us?

    Where will tomorrow lead us?

How will the future deal with us?

What is God’s will for us?

These are the questions mankind ponder and worry about day after day. When we have successfully finished living through today, and tomorrow, the future becomes the next hurdle.

Everyone understands they have little control over the future or the various destinations of life, be it in the area of education, childbirth, marriage, occupation, migration, relocation, etc. A great number of us, however, believe some force or power controls the future. Now, since we do not know what the future holds, often many say the future is unknown, and we tend to harbor the fear of tomorrow out of desperation because our future is not fully positioned in the will of God.

But then again, is the future really unknown?

This book has arrived by the purpose of God to shed light on this and other related questions and to provide knowledge and directions to those who desire to live their tomorrow today with the help of God and successfully face tomorrow without fear.

Tomorrow, or the future, is interconnected with our existence; it is our life, our destiny, and a destination. The dead surely do not care about tomorrow, because with them there is no tomorrow or a destiny to pursue.

Most people are aware of the word destiny, but its meaning has different interpretations to them.

Some believe the word destiny simply means a destination point in life (the future), while others believe it describes an event, a situation, or a fate that will happen or that has already happened, or some kind of good fortune that has befallen or will befall them.

According to the Webster’s Dictionary, destiny is the state or condition appointed or predetermined; ultimate fate, as, ‘Men are solicitous to know their future destiny, which is however happily concealed from them’; invisible necessity, fate; a necessity or fixed order of things established by a divine decree; ‘Destiny, the fate or supposed powers which preside over human life, spin it out and determine it.’

So the word destiny means more than just fate, luck, or the future; it is a condition appointed or predetermined by a power that presides over human life.

It is clear that every person’s destiny is appointed and predetermined by a power other than that person and concealed, meaning clearly and purposefully mapped out, by that superior power.

The big question, then, is, Is this condition happily concealed from men?

King David, a man who had a very close relationship with God, clearly understood years before any modern-day dictionary was published that every person has a destiny that is predetermined before he or she is born. He wrote in the book of Psalms, But with your own eyes you saw my body being formed. Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything I would do (Ps. 139:16 cev). This deep insight from King David is the crux of this book.

Even before the Most High God began forming any of us, His masterpieces, He carefully and happily created a blueprint of everything we would do here on earth according to His will—this is the God-given destiny of a man (or a woman).

Many individuals have tried to be in harmony and at peace with God so they can please Him in their earthly successes, but while most of us want to be successful in life, peace and harmony with God are only attainable by knowing the will and the way of God for our lives—our personal, God-given destiny.

    Chapter 1

    Designed with a Divine Blueprint

In the evening, the train gradually pulled out of the station, rumbling through the densely commercial metropolis and into the suburbs. It pushed through the thick darkness with all its coaches in tow, as I settled into the sleeper, I shared with a couple on this twenty-four-hour remarkable trip.

Leisurely the brightness of another day crept in. The sun rose beautifully over the hills as the locomotive made its way through various stations and over mountainous areas, lowlands, villages, and placid rivers. It was an ongoing fascinating scenery.

As I gazed out the widow, I drifted into deep thoughts about my exciting journey. It had been more than twelve hours on the train; the only thing that helped me maintain my calm was the picturesque surrounding. But then at a point my attention shifted to the rail tracks, and I began to observe the rail network and appreciated the fact that my trip was safe and made possible because of a significant factor—the railway network system.

I observed enthusiastically how the different lines of tracks served different routes, an intricate arrangement that had been put in place so that the engines, no matter the terrain, reached their destinations with all travelers safe, sound, and satisfied.

The efforts made to construct that entire rail network deserve commendation. Engineers made no errors in determining which routes and station interchanges would be best for each journey. All pragmatic details, such as the railway infrastructure, maintenance, efficiency, management, and safety measures had been plotted, designed, and planned in advance to ensure an efficient transportation delivery.

At the forefront of all the planning, maps and blueprints were designed to guide each engine to the right destination. Without these, the end result would have been anyone’s guess.

The details of this journey proved handy, as the Spirit of the Lord brought it to my remembrance when we began to lay the chapters for this book, a book that will teach mankind and the nations to travel their life’s journey as if they are on a locomotive much more than on an automobile, an aircraft, or an ocean vessel.

Now, if trains, aircrafts, and ships must function strictly in accordance with the design and blueprint of the manufacturers, why, then, do we humans decide to live life without referring to a guide, a map, or a blueprint from our Maker to direct our paths? Must we grope our way through life like we are feeling around in the dark? In Isaiah 59:10 (cev), the prophet Isaiah sadly describes how we feel our way along, as if we were blind; we stumble at noon, as if it were night. We can see no better than someone dead. A vivid description of a life without divine guidance.

Unquestionably, many feel their way through life relying on speculation alone, because they believe they cannot know for certain what God’s plans are for their lives. Others assume there may be a guide to life, although hidden from them, as Job so ignorantly believed in Job 3:23 (esv), where he said, Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, and whom God has hedged in? But as you read further in the book of Job, you will notice that Job admits he stands to be corrected for some of his utterances, including the one I just mentioned. In Job 6:24 (asv), he said, Teach me, and I will hold my peace; And cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

This is the place every human creation of God must come to, the acknowledgment of our limited human minds and the reality of the will and the way of God, our divine blueprint, our God-given destiny.

So what are our hopes based on for tomorrow if we do not know God’s plans for our lives today?

God, by His superb craftsmanship, has charted a path for each of our lives; by our awareness and consciousness of His destiny-guiding wisdom, we are better positioned to call on the name of the Lord, to seek and ask for a divine revelation of the contents of our divine blueprint so we can determine if we are moving in line with and in conformity to His plan. Only by humbly bringing our own plans before God and seeking His divine agenda would we truly discover the path God has charted for us.

So without a revelation (consciousness) and the acknowledgment of our divine blueprint, the details of God’s specific plan and purpose for our lives, our God-given destiny will remain hidden like Job thought, while presumptions, complaints, lack of fulfillment, and fear of tomorrow will increase and trouble our lives.

As you read this book, you will discover that it is never God’s intention to conceal the correct path for your life. Just as ships, automobiles, aircraft, and trains are all made to operate according to the desires of their inventors, so did God, the Master Designer, likewise design each person to live according to His elaborately intended blueprint.

With deep insight from the Spirit of God, I am using the railroad structure to exemplify how God Almighty has charted a superb course, a track for each individual to travel on.

The railroad system exemplifies the way of God for our lives because of its unique tracks, design, and operation. Just as a well-engineered path is crucial to getting a train through its daily journeys, so is the blueprint God created to map our course through life.

Our life’s blueprint is loaded with the pleasing, perfect Will and way of God, His plan and purpose, as well as His divine guidance and divine timing, all of which are necessary for us to live our God-given destiny.

We can never find a train moving on the roadways, nor do we find trains suddenly changing their routes of destination the way automobiles and aircraft do because of unforeseen circumstances or difficulties. Trains are obliged to stay on track to prevent confusion and will not alter course unless a locomotive has received clearance from the engineers and track supervisors. In the same way, it is crucial for each of us to live strictly according to our divine blueprint. Any alteration or change of course must be by the leading and direction of God.

Unfortunately, today, many have chosen to travel the journey of life with no clear-cut divine direction, plan, or map and, as a result, suffer from complete ignorance of the will and direction of the Creator.

The Sovereign God did not create mankind with our special qualities only to abandon us to a life of uncertainty like a rudderless ship. King David said in Psalm 139:13–14 (cev), You are the one who put me together inside my mother’s body, and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt.

Clearly, King David understood that God created him with his own unique, divine purpose. So David, as a soldier, prophet, and king, confidently revealed he had a divine blueprint. In Psalm 139:16 (cev), he said, But with your own eyes you saw my body being formed. Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything I would do.

Just as God had a blueprint for this shepherd boy who later became a king, God has a blueprint for every man and woman who has lived, who is living, or who will live on earth, regardless of race, language, or economic status.

The account of the creation of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and statements made by King David in Psalm 139:13–14 lay the unshakable foundation that the Sovereign God, Adonai El-Shaddai, created all humans and gave them the breath of life, whether they believe in Him or not.

As we meditate on this matter, let us see what God said about one of His marvelous creations, the sea, in Job 38:8–11 (cev): When the ocean was born, I set its boundaries and wrapped it in blankets of thickest fog. Then I built a wall around it, locked the gates, and said, ‘Your powerful waves stop here! They can go no farther.’ Here the Sovereign God was speaking to Job and his friends about how He has set boundaries for the sea so that it dutifully keeps to its limits. Indeed, the sea obeys the boundaries that God has set for it; sadly, it is not so with humans, who have chosen not to live according to the set master plan, the blueprint that God has fearfully and wonderfully designed for our lives.

Our ministry motto is, Everyone has a God-given destiny. So did our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus had a divine blueprint and destiny that He spoke of as the will of the Father. In John 4:34 (emtv), Jesus revealed to His disciples, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work. Jesus meant He could do nothing without seeking and following the Will of God daily, just as the human body requires nourishment from food to survive. Thus, by seeking the Will of God, our Lord Jesus was able to overcome worldly distractions and successfully fulfilled His divine purpose and assignment as written in His blueprint.

Prophets Isaiah and Simeon and the prophetess Anna testified about the destiny of our Lord Jesus Christ from parts of His blueprint that God revealed to them. Isaiah prophesied the birth of Jesus Christ: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6 asv).

Simeon spoke about the purpose and death of our Lord Jesus in Luke 2:28–35 (asv): Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: …‘For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.’ …Then Simeon blessed them and then said to Mary, his mother: ‘This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.

Anna, the prophetess, declared the glory of God and spread the good news of Christ’s birth to all. Immediately, she encountered the baby Jesus in the temple. She gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem (Luke 2:38 niv).

Do you know God’s will and purpose for your life? Do you know God has a blueprint for your life? Are you living your life according to the blueprint God designed for you?

    Key Scripture

Teach me, and I will hold my peace: and if I have been ignorant of anything, instruct me (Job 6:24 drb).

    Pray that…

Your mind will be open for God to teach you about Himself and His will (His blueprint for your life).

God will give you the peace to find time to learn from Him.

God will open your ears to follow His instructions.

God will give you a heart of flesh (a soft and pliable heart) to obey His commands.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

    Interlude

    Our Faith Beginnings 1

At the end of a few minutes’ chat with my elementary schoolmate, he held my hands and led me to say the salvation prayer. I had just exited the bar to down a few shots of hard liquor, my usual routine in the morning and evening, when I bumped into my friend.

The next morning, I realized the little prayer I said had a powerful effect on my life; it was as if a fire that devoured what was not right in my life had been kindled within me. From that point on, I began to be more careful of my ways.

A few days later, I saw a newspaper advertisement of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International group claiming to be a gathering of the happiest people on earth! That phrase grabbed my attention so much that I reflected on those words and later showed the advertisement to my wife, Sandra. Our curiosity was stirred enough that we decided to attend the meeting and be part of these happy people.

We attended the breakfast prayer meeting at the local chapter; it was a wonderful experience. The speaker prayed for me, and as he prayed, he prophesied that God will use me. To the glory of God, after that prayer, the desire to consume alcohol left me, though I did not think much about the words God will use you. I met the speaker a couple of times after that meeting, but I did not ask the man of God what those words meant, nor did I have the insight to pray that God would reveal His intention or His will to me and, indeed, use me. Nevertheless, those words lived on in my memory for a while.

We found a local church shortly after that refreshing meeting and began to effectively live the life of born-again Christians. Then one day I had a dream—a different kind of dream. I woke up anxious because the only thing I saw in the dream was a Bible verse, so I quickly grabbed my Bible and pored over 2 Chronicles 7:11 (tlv), which read, Thus Solomon finished the House of Adonai and the king’s palace. Indeed, all that Solomon had on his heart to accomplish in the House of Adonai and in his own palace, he successfully completed.

As a young believer, I could not discern, nor did I understand, the message in the dream. I thought God wanted me to assist our local church congregation to construct a building for our church since we held services in a commercial facility. So I went to the church and gave my pastor at that time a seed offering to start a building project fund. I completely misinterpreted what God was telling me in the dream. I strongly believed He wanted me to build a physical temple for Him; never did it cross my mind that God wanted me to build Him a spiritual temple for His use. (After several years, I understood the dream God showed me—to build a spiritual temple for men and women to call on the name of the Lord for a destiny revelation or a destiny change.)

As my wife and I studied the scriptures, our faith soared and life became meaningful. After a few months, we blessed our marriage, and God opened a door for me to travel abroad. While on that trip, I had the opportunity to attend a breakfast meeting with another chapter of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International. At the end of the meeting, a brother I never met before approached me and told me that when I was entering the meeting that morning, God told him I was a man with the proper thus says the Lord. I graciously received the prophecy—the mind of God—but my focus at that moment, among other cares, was how I was going to locate my cousin, whom I had not seen for a long while.

Unbeknownst to me, that prophecy was a divine directive I was supposed to run with, according to 1 Timothy 1:18, to shape my destiny and align it with the will of the Father, but sadly, I did not value the prophetic
